The Official Questions Thread Version: "Charlies in the trees, what do I need to get rid of them?"

And it looks like the stock will be the hardest part.
Without modification, only real-steel products exist. B&T makes one but it's $280 and there's no guarantee if it'll fit on a Galaxy clone of a TM model and who knows if that's 1:1. http://www.tacstore.ch/b-t-hk-mp5k-foldable-polymer-stock?language=en
There's also the MFI stock adapter that allows for mounting regular MP5 stocks (and in turn the UMP) but those stopped being made circa 2009 so they're probably extinct by now. Only thread I could find: http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Mfi-Stock-Adapters-Embas-t148712.html
So looks like modifying an MP5 UMP stock is the only way to go. I don't even have a dremel :c
And suddenly everyone is making anti-notrabies MP5s :v:
Don't worry, the best part about making an anti-notrabies build is that by definition it will suck.
Meanwhile, I'm just sitting over here waiting impatiently for my G3KA4 to be ready.

How is this an anti-notrabies build in any way?
its way heavier than it needs to be and sacrifices performance for looks
its way heavier than it needs to be and sacrifices performance for looks
But that's just the normal MP5. It's totally reasonable.

Yeah, that's the SR-3 in a nutshell.
No, the reason the new abomination counts an an antinotrabies build is because I was asked to provide advice for making the best Galaxy MP5K, and then most of that advice was discarded to make something that "looks better".
I've got no problem with someone making something that looks cool since that was the whole reason I made the Glock 34 and bought the SR-3 and SPAS-12, but I still maintain that buying a PDW and making it longer than the fullsize variant is ridiculous, and that asking for advice before disregarding most of it is a poor decision.
Also, we both agree that wood furniture is pretty awesome, while I very strongly disagree with what Terrorshield considers to be aesthetically pleasing.

This guy gets it.
Nothing about me is lightweight, compact, or maneuverable, so I dont think making an MP5k longer or heavy will affect me in any way.

Yeah, but I imagine that using a longer length inner barrel will almost certainly fuck up the overhop that gives this thing so much range.
if i wear multicam with OD/RG gear will i look stupid?
Probably not.

I wasnt going to put a longer inner barrel in it, just going to mod a mp5 sliding stock to fit and get a suppressor for looksies

That looks extremely sexy
Since airsoft suppressors don't do much, AFAIK, I'd go with a shorter one myself (based off of just aestethics)
you still get a cool barrel extension, you save the aesthetics and you don't make the gun that much longer. Win Win imo
you don't make the gun that much longer. Win Win imo
Lol what. Cmon man I'm making this build and even I have to disagree with you.
this thing is going to be SO long and unwieldy compared to the base MP5K

THE POWER OF ASKING
He's inflated the original price, though this is exactly what I need, $50 seems like a lot for a single piece. How well does cast aluminum age anyways? Would the build quality be degraded from sitting so long?
These things are older than ryan11.

If they are full aluminum then they should be good. But airsoft monkey metals can degrade over time.
If they are full aluminum then they should be good. I'm just concerned if they'll fit being prototypes and all (not to mention the cost and I'll have to paint it myself).
I would go for that shit. They seem pretty ~rare~ and aluminum is nice. Spraying it back and then doing a clear coat won't be too hard anyway.

I wasn't disagreeing with you at all actually :v:
I was just putting some tiny value into functionality (wouldn't want to ram that thing into a wall), but if you're going straight for aestethics, you have my support (for all it matters)

Looks like I'm going for it then.
I'm looking forward to seeing this finished.
This build is staggeringly expensive though. $50 for the stock adapter, $80 for the G&G MP5-UMP stock (there's a $40 Matrix clone on Evike but ehh). ~$130 just to get the stock on it.
I'm never buying anything ever again after this whole thing is done.
[editline]12th July 2014[/editline]
i should probably also look into getting a job

WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT
the ride never ends
I see a lot of people loop their single point slings through the top straps on the plate carriers/vests so their gun sits on their chest dead center
what's a good single point sling that will allow me to do that?
You could do that with pretty much any single point, just find one you like

So I followed your advice and bought the mp7 I asked about. It came with a 20rd low cap, a 90rd midcap, and a hi cap
Now where do I get more midcaps?

i wanna murder whoever thought naming a magazine company "mag" was remotely a good idea
But it's genius because "mag brand mags"
