You do realize that's the BOYS model which is a scaled down mini version of the gun for kids and goes for like $80 USD?
[editline]12th September 2014[/editline]
Did TM ever make a full size Tavor? I've only ever heard about the Ares/S&T/Umarex.
it's adorable
I wonder if the mags would fit in my BOYS M4 I got for christmas maybe 10 years ago.
Is the picatinny rail also smaller than normal?
That would be crazy annoying.
Soooo
Should I be worried that my order from SovietArmyStuff hasn't arrived yet? May email tomorrow, it's been around 7 weeks
I'm looking for a cheap JPC, would [url=http://www.evike.com/products/46300/]this[/url] be suitable? I'm making a group order from evike to cut down on shipping and this is the only brand that they have available. If it's total shit, I could i guess go for [url=http://www.shootercbgear.com/product_info.php?products_id=8072]This[/url], which I have heard is made by Flyye, but the shipping to my location is almost as much as the carrier for some reason.

You actually bought from those Ukrainian bandits?
You done goofed, bro. Get on their asses about it ASAP and check the exact date of purchase, Paypal's buyer protection is only good for what, 45 days?

Avoid "Avengers", it's just another one of Evike's rebrands of cheap china stuff like their Matrix brand. That also looks like an insulting imitation of a JPC. Better off getting the MODI, there's been like two guys on here who have them and can confirm their quality for the price (not exactly made by Flyye but in the same factory just with lower denier nylon).
Though if the cost+shipping is really bothering you, go ahead and get the Avengers, you can be the first to let us know how the quality and stitching holds up.
[editline]13th September 2014[/editline]
though be warned, even the real crye jpc has it's problems, mainly the lack of bartacking on the shoulder straps which makes it more liable to break under stress and the lack of a proper drag handle, so don't exactly expect any miracles from even the best repro without reinforcing the seams yourself

This, if you cant get the MODI, get the TMC. The TMC isnt as bad as people say. Might want to DIY some shoulderpads because JPC shoulderpads arent even pads, just strips of fabric.
Edit: I want to get an AK for shits and giggles, probably a 74u or one of those black but acceptable nonkapitalist ones. CYMA is the way to go? Also, what would UPS brokerage charges would be if I ship from evike? I guess i would have to ship it to washington and then drive over and pick it up myself so UPS doesnt rape me? or do they not do that anymore?
Does anyone know what kind of guts the ASG SVD-S uses?
Depends on which clone it is. If it's a springer it's likely the AtoZ/KA system, if it's an AEG it's probably CYMA's.
Is the springer system upgradeable/worth getting?
[editline]13th September 2014[/editline]

"ARES"
well fuck
Upgradeable? Probably.
Worth getting? I doubt it.
For under $100 before shipping?
It's a springer, sooooo. If you really want an SVDS I would personally go for the CYMA over the ARES, because A. AEG > springer (in this particular case, I know how good properly-tuned spring sniper rifles can be, but it's an SVD....) and B. ARES, enough said.
I want this

Then I see its OEM by classic army. my shittiest gun is a classic army m6 and it is just a nightmare. Whats the general concensus on classic army?

Absolute shit externals and internals. Almost up there with ARES in terribleness.
At least ARES generally has good externals
What 40mm grenades do you guys recommend?
I have a few of the S-thunders that require the little caps on the end and have had poor luck with them.
I just want a good ol' fashioned BB shower.

Ive been having good luck with the Pro-arms and MAG shells recently. MAG ones are particularly nice because they are half plastic which gives a significant weight savings.
Madbull is always a solid bet but they are very expensive compared to most shells on the market these days. Historically Ive also been a fan of CAW shells (fantastic) and UK arms shells (Decent), but those are damn near impossible to find these days.
[editline]15th September 2014[/editline]
For propane/green gas that is. For CO2 I would always stick with Madbull.
anyone know of any good painting tutorials for snakeskin on an m4? I've looked at a bunch on youtube and people don't disassemble their guns or strip the grease off in some, but they do in others. Is there any definitive guide that's better than the rest?
It's really easy, honestly.
Get some net with the appropriate pattern. (mine came from the lining of my swim trunks, actually)
No need to disassemble your gun, just tape off any areas you wouldn't want paint getting into.
Lightly "dust" some areas on your gun with a khaki/tan paint. (Krylon or Rustoleum camo paints work pretty well)
Remember, it's easier to add more than it is to take away, so be sparing.
Let it dry, and apply your net of choice over the tan spots on your gun.
Lightly paint over the net with black paint. (be careful not to let the net move or it can ruin your pattern)
I suggest practicing/experimenting on something else before your gun, but it's a fairly simple technique that generally produces good results.
I usually go about it this way:
1) Paint entire object sand color.
2) Lay mesh over whole object and paint swaths in brown.
3) Remove mesh and lightly spray random areas in khaki color.
The extra khaki spray helps to break up the hard lines of the brown and sand colors and makes the whole thing blend better in my opinion. Doing it this way has turned out really well every time I've done it.

My experience with CA has been that they generally have half-decent externals (aside from shitty commercial/civilian trademarks like Armalite and Arsenal) but terribad internals. Especially their wiring.
Has anyone tried using sand as a paint pattern "stencil" like mesh for snakeskin? I think that would look pretty cool if done properly.
I'm almost certain that the paint would make the sand stick to the gun like glitter and make the texture weird. But I might try it later on a piece of paper or something.
Friend of mine is selling a Tokyo marui uzi with a broken trigger (just the trigger is physically broken) with five mags for 80 bucks. Is this a good deal? How hard is it to get a new trigger for that gun? Can someone send me in the right direction?
Do it, tm uzis are so cool
[QUOTE=Fish Muffin;45997468]Do it, tm uzis are so cool[/QUOTE]
TM uzis with no trigger are not cool though. Where can I get a new trigger?
Also apparently there's no fire selector so I guess it's sick in semi auto. Which is fine. I only ever use semi anyway.
