This depends entirely on yourself. It would be nice to have at least a basic set of woodland BDU's or anything easily available (you can probably find Flecktarn or DPM for dirt cheap). If you get into it more, you might join a team of some sort. Some of these enforce certain "dress code" as they often recreate the look of chosen forces, like USMC. Others give you more freedom, if they're just a loose bunch of people who just want to have fun airsofting together. One thing is a definate must: proper boots that provide ankle protection.
also for eyepro, which is the best? i wear glasses and am thinking of buying a balaclava with facepro Would the goggle type ones work or are there like prescrition funny looking glasses?
In the US 99% of fields won't allow you in without full-seal goggles. As for your question on dress code - if you don't have the ~$15 to spend on a basic set of surplus BDUs, then you should probably save up a little longer before you enter the sport. You'll want to have at least the aforementioned camo, a good set of boots (surplus or mid-range hiking boots can be had for cheap), eye protection, and a gun that's not an LPEG (if it's under $100, it's usually an LPEG) before you start playing. If you like the game, then you should also invest the minimal amount of money it costs to buy a surplus kit, be that an old ALICE type rig, a Chicom, or an FLC with some pouches. None of those costs more than $20. Edited: For instance, a good starter AK rig would be the following: -Surplus M81 BDUs (sleeves rolled up if you're cool) - $20 -Surplus Military Boots - $20 -Chicom Chest Rig - $10 -Baseball Cap (dark colored) - $2 -Eye Protection (goggle/glasses type) - $10 -Cyma CM.040 (or other Cyma CM.04X model) - $150
Why are you giving the prices in Pounds Sterling when both of you are American?
Fuck shit for some reason I thought his flag said UK. [editline]14th October 2014[/editline] fixed
Why are you giving the prices in Pounds Sterling when both of you are American?
For it is clearly a far superior currency. [editline]14th October 2014[/editline] Guys I need a decent hat, what are some decent baseball caps for Airsoft; preferably in multicam or a variant and preferably with velcro on.
get the trucker hat that Herf has that says "Your face makes my penis soft" and has a sad face on it

[editline]14th October 2014[/editline] http://ctoms.ca/Mission-Essential-Equipment/Crye-Precision/crye-shooters-cap-velcro.html This is a canadian store that sells them, so you may have to content with high shipping fees.
Well MP5K was a piece of shit right?
I think anything WELL aside from the sniper rifles is pretty much shit.
I just noticed that my hop up doesnt have a spring to push it against the gearbox. It's pretty tight, but could it be the source of my doublefeeding / dryfiring issues?
So how bad really are WE pistols? I'm considering getting their M9 because it's cheap and it has co2 mags. You guys seem to make them out to be the worst on the market. I'm mainly wanting to get one so that I can do a custom build with the Madbull hitman compensator.
WE makes the best budget airsoft pistols but they're not the best
WE m9s are or at least were very shit. new we guns are good.
Does anyone know where I can buy foreign variants of M81 woodland in different colorways? The reason I ask is I've seen some interesting variants from other countries before, and I just want to stand out from everyone else.
WE makes the best budget airsoft pistols but they're not the best
I don't mind if they're not the best pistol in the world, there's no cqb field around me. I figured I'd get what I'd pay for with one anyway.
WE m9s are or at least were very shit. new we guns are good.
Are the "ptp" we m9s considered shit or decent?
Go KJW instead, the price is negligible and the quality is way better.
Alright, I'll give em a look.
So 3 things. I'm more dead set. I've read reviews, and I wanna buy this http://www.evike.com/products/42683/ It seems fairly good for a beginner. Second I'm headed to two army surplus stores that are super close to me, no question there but ayy I am buying some BDU's. Last question, is there anyone around here from CT? Where would I find games or events?
WE pistols aren't all that bad, I've used them for years and no issues. They aren't the GREATEST but i've never had one fail on me or be horrible. As for BDUs keep in mind 50% of a Military Surplus store's inventory is commercial and it is not true military surplus or military grade. However some things listed under commercial are made under government contract and were un-issued, and some of it is made to military grade. You can tell by the tags on the clothes, you'll usually get a NATO sizing tag if it's Milspec. Propper makes milspec BDUs and are better than Rothco and Truspec, but only get Propper if you can't find any legit issued ones. Oh and don't forget to wash them on cold cycle so they don't fade, don't put them in the dryer either.

I hear that re-using BB's breaks your guns Also I'm not really looking for an authentic BDU so its alright. thanks for the tips for washing too! Real BDUs are going to be cheaper than any commercial shit you find...
It's true that reusing BBs destroys your internals, but Lancer Tacticals break down quickly from normal use, the Cyma CM.035 AK-74u would be a better choice and is $96 on Evike
