Does anyone know if the AK Pmags are ever going to get made in airsoft? Like the legit ones, not the Bulgarian 5.56 AK mags Beta Project calls Pmags
So I've got a problem that's been persisting for a while, though i still have no idea what it is or why so I'll ask here.

What is going on with my USP's slide, and what can i do to fix it? It looks so nasty like that and I can't scrape it off.
It's never been wet for any extended periods of time and it lives in a drawer. Before it started living in my drawer it was on my desk for a long time, though nothing ever happened to it that would make it rust or whatever this is.
Where did you get a tan USP?
KSC aparrently made them at some point, but I don't know where you'd buy them new. I bought mine second hand.
If I'm correct, the slide of your pistol is blued and thats small spots of rust forming. I had this happen to me a while back with a deactivated real steel Walther PPK.
To fix this, lay out some newspaper then apply gun oil to a cloth, rub the areas of rust then apply more oil. Then, use 0000 steel wool to remove any remaining rust.
That shouldn't damage it. But its up to you whether you want to risk it.
It can't get any worse, so i may try it. What gun oil would you reccomend?
KWA used to make tan USPs. OD too

I asked my brother if he had any gun oil and he suggested nail polish remover. Seems to have cleaned the gunk off it, but the rest seems to be pitting in the metal. It's slightly nicer now, at least.
Problem sort of solved, unless anything can be done about pitting.

NS2 system?
I know this will sound like a n00b question but is it possible to change the stock on a tri-shot, the reason I ask is the CQB field in my area is pretty cramped and I'm always bumping into everything with my ultra long stock one, or should I just trade someone for a shorter version?

Yeah you just take a flathead screwdriver to the buttpad and convince it to come off, and then the stock is held in by a foot long screw, the Grip is usually attached to the stock, keep that in mind.
Thanks, but does it work on the non-retractable stock version?
Thanks, but does it work on the non-retractable stock version?
Yeah, That's the kind I had before the stock broke off and I just kinda threw it away.

His slide shouldn't be rusting, KWA/KSC doesn't use steel slides and I've never seen aluminum rust like that (actually never seen aluminum rust at all, even completely devoid of paint/finish), and having owned a few KSCs back in the day I can say with 99% confidence the slides are not blued, either. The finish reminds me of that black oxide stuff you see on knives, definitely not any blueing that I've ever seen.
As for what it actually is, can't say I know for sure. Never seen a KSC do that before. Seen it happen to a few cheap-ass Chinese knives, but those all had steel blades. Not quality steel mind you, but still steel.
Mysterious.

well, to be frank, the only reason you've never seen aluminum rust is because Rust, chemically, is Iron Oxide, or FeO. The only metal that rusts is Iron, and that's when it comes into contact with Oxygen (Usually from Water, or H2O)
That doesn't mean that alloys can't rust, since they can, but only if the alloy they consist of contains Iron.
Is there a company that's making a replica of the Crye Compact Assault Ghillie yet? I'd like to have one that's not in Multicam OR that's not $154. If it HAS to be Multicam, then I'll deal with that.
Fuck yeah, science n' shit
What is a reasonable price to sell a tri-shot with light scratches on it?
I wouldn't go above $30
Thanks, probably sell it to my local airsoft store for in store credit towards other purchases I might make. Does anyone know a good budget plate carrier that's durable?

My emerson JPC is solid as fuck. I've heard bad things about the stitching but on mine it seems very solid, especially for the price. I've gamed it 4 times now and there is virtually no wear on it at all.
EDIT: Could someone recommend an oper8or looking set of fake / cheap stuff to throw on a knock off fast helmet? I dont have a cover for it yet too so ideally that should be included
Just go to shootercbgear or ebairsoft and buy whatever shit looks cool, it's all cheap knockoffs

Can confirm. I have two
Aluminum actually corrodes extremely quickly when exposed to air, much more quickly than ferrous metals, but unlike on ferrous metals where the oxidation comes off and exposes more metal, aluminum oxide forms a thin layer on the surface of the aluminum that seals it in and prevents further corrosion. The problem is, there are a lot of chemicals that can damage this layer and allow further corrosion. Treating a rusting aluminum part with aggressive cleaners will probably only make the problem worse, the best thing to do is either leave it as-is, apply a protective layer with some kind of sealant, or use a specialized aluminum cleaner.
Shit me theres so much science in this thread.
How difficult would it be to fit a real PASGT Helmet suspension system/chinstrap into a replica shell?
Thanks, I've changed my mind probably going to get this instead and find something else to compliment it:

not exactly sure yet what I'll use to carry more mags on me, but for CQB I should be fine with just this as I can keep my extra shotgun shells in one pouch and spent ones in the other.

I put a real chinstrap in a replica shell. iirc I had to drill new holes, for the front screws, but other than that it works fine.
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
yeah, I had to drill new holes because the original ones were too high up
I may try it, though I'll need some screws. Is there anywhere that sells screws specifically for helmets?
I think i also need a bigger helmet cover, since my M81 cover is 'small' and it's a real struggle to fit it on.
could someone recommend me an mp5 for under $300 CAD?
i cant get galaxy, none are available on canadian websites ATM
http://www.evike.com/products/34458/
G&G MP5 199.99 USD
