The Official Questions Thread Version: "Charlies in the trees, what do I need to get rid of them?"

LMG Gearboxes are literally the easiest thing to work on ever according to a buddy of mine. all the gears are in a nice little row and everything.
I feel like any gearbox with a quick change spring is no trouble at all to work with. The most annoying part of assembling a V2 or V3 gearbox is trying to assemble it with the spring constantly trying to escape and the anti-reversal latch popping out when you so much as think about it. Being able to reassemble the gearbox without the main spring trying to force it all apart seems like it'd be easy.
lmg boxes are designed for ease of maintenance above everything else
Thanks again for all the help! I'll be sure to refer to you guys for more info.
As someone who hardly knows anything about webbing, chest rigs and chest carriers n stuff, does anyone have a good source to learn about distinguishing different types along with info?
If I want an AK-74, should I go for E&L, VFC, or LCT?
I'm glad Lmg gearboxes are quick change. I got to rdg and found out my Pkm actually shot 345 Fps when the limit for lmgs is 450.
If I want an AK-74, should I go for E&L, VFC, or LCT?
VFC by a small margin, followed by E&L by a small margin, and then LCT. They're all very nice, so don't be too worried when you can't find a VFC in stock or what not.
LCT's at the bottom of those three? I thought they were at the top, what have I missed?
VFC's always been at the top as they're the most realistically-built of the three. LCT is modern-day Inokatsu/Guarder, which is to say Marui-style with lots of screws. They're getting better about that though, their NV models are more realistic.
I've heard most E&Ls aren't proper Russian AKs due to a lot of minor details being more akin to the Chinese Type 56, however they're still full-steel and for the price (cheaper than VFC or LCT usually) you can't really go wrong with them.
Also, WGC has VFC AK-74s in stock: www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=VFC-AEG-AK74&search=special&rs=Electric%20Airsoft%20Gun%20-%20AEG&catid=1&cat=900&view_choice=a

VFC's have always been at the top, but they're rare and frequently out of production. E&L is the new kid on the block and they're just a little bit better than LCT.
LCT is still better than CYMA, DBOYS, Classic Army, JG, Echo 1, G&G, or anyone else.
Real Sword are the real kings of the castle, but they're all Chinese model AK's and far more expensive/rare than the others.

CYMA AK best AK
CYMA AKs are great and all, but they're still nowhere near as good as the VFC/LCT ones.

it was meant to be humorous, but I forgot that this forum usually doesn't pick up on that

What ever happened to the ARs they were making? I remember them showing off an M4 with some crazy features a few years ago.

it was an M16, but still
full bolt electromagnetic blow back

Its hard to pick up on sarcasm when the only medium is text. Cyma are excellent budget guns, like the G&G combat machine for AK's. They're not stellar but with a bit of work they can match some of the highest quality guns.
Still looking for guns to add to my maybe christmas list. I'm too damn picky for my own good :/

A few years back I really wanted to buy a Real Sword Type 97, but that never happened. I may still buy one at some point and become the whitest PLA soldier though.
[editline]7th December 2014[/editline]
Or I could buy a real steel Type 97 when I get my firearms license
Wasn't there a video of these guys abusing a VFC or Real Sword AK, throwing in mud, running it over, etc and showing that it could still shoot?

It was a video of an e&l

VFC, RealSword, and LCT were done first.

The RS was the main video, and it was also buried in snow and then blown up.
Just be sure to remember what Izhmash always says:

Is it possible to repair the trigger spring on a pistol? Mine just broke, just seconds ago, after playing with it.
Is it possible to repair the trigger spring on a pistol? Mine just broke, just seconds ago, after playing with it.
For some you can buy a replacement. I used a clipped safety pin as a trigger spring in an M9 once, if you need an immediate but not high quality fix.

Still looking for an answer.

There's quite a bit in the megathread pinned at the top of this section
Has anyone ever rewired a light and or PEQ box? I've got a repro m900 as well as repro peq 16 Im looking to rewire. 20awg wire is what Im looking to open the side pads on the m900 to make those work again as well as rewire the rear button to work with the peq. Has anyone done anything similar? just looking to not mess up simple things the first time.
I sold my friend a combat machine raider early in the summer, the gearbox now has a hairline crack and he doesnt want to airsoft anymore because he doesnt wanna buy a new G&G gearbox shell if the shell ends up cracking. I dont want him to quit so fast. Could I give him an old V2 gearbox or would it not fit?
It'll most likely fit.
Got an OD battlebelt from my secret santa. Thinking a bunch of MOLLE gear, so utility pouch and a few canteen pouches. I've seen a bunch of battlebelt setups in the loadout thread, but I have no idea what half that shit is
How do I battle belt? How do I into suspenders? Can I add a backpack thing as well?
[editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
also what kind of pouches fit SR25/SCAR-H mags? Do M4 pouches work with Ak74 mags?
[editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
I'm assuming this isn't a bad idea? Thinking I want that so I can attach a camelbak to that and save more room on the belt for actual gear
I'm so excite to have some weel gear c:
[editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
Does this attach to MOLLE or is it independent?
Assuming it's one of those Condor battle belts, you need a smaller normal belt to put inside of it so you can actually secure it onto you. Most of the belt setups in the loadout thread are things like premade chest rigs, or ALICE/M1956 rigs which aren't MOLLE compatible. You wear a backpack with a battle belt, but you can't really attach one to it without some modification
