The Official Questions Thread Version: "Charlies in the trees, what do I need to get rid of them?"

Disassembling it wasn't too bad, actually.
My problem is part of the piston snapped off so I went ahead and trashed it.
I'll go see what the local shop sells them for in hopes of a replacement.
Edit: On second thought, I'll just pistol primary until I can get something decent for my Birthday in July.
so if I were to buy an A&K M249, what are some things I should fix right away? I'm pretty mechanically savvy (not tech levels though) and don't mind taking things apart. In fact, the more things I have to take apart, the better.

oops meant Mk43
hopup
compression
motor
So I have the khyber AK that shoots 360 FPS, and I want to make it shoot 350 FPS by Friday, and the only way I can do it is by cutting the spring, which I've already decided on. Can I get a tutorial for this? With pics preferably because I've never done tech work in this depth.

new nub or just new bucking? What kind of motor, high torque or high speed? Also heard that m120 or m130 spring is also a good idea
it should come stock with an m130/m120 but the compression is so bad that it shoots at 350-390fps out of the box
replace bucking and elongate nub (it's a vertical design) or file the nub hole in the chamber so it's square and flat/rhop it
just forget that high speed motors are a thing

i'd still buy a new spring though since the stock one in mine sheared off at the 2nd or 3rd coil from the end in ~7.5k rounds

this is gonna be a mess
okay. still not sure whether I want Mk43 or M60VN. Mk43 seems much easier to handle but the VN looks so much better
imo the construction of the 43 is much better than that of the vn
what should I do for ROF? I know I can remove "mosfet", reshim, and grease. And maybe use a 9.6v. Can it take a LiPo? What else can I do?
[editline]20th May 2013[/editline]
oh and rewire to deans
did you really just ask "can it take a lipo"
13:1s+lonex a2+whatever the stock spring that makes it shoot 430-350fps is+3300mah 9.6 makes my pkm shoot a good 26-28rps
I don't see what is harmful about that question but okayyyy.
By 13:1s I assume you are talking about gears?
yes
[editline]20th May 2013[/editline]
literally every gun can take a lipo
the question is how long do they last under the power of one
and aren't high voltage packs like 11.1v's hard on the gears? I have loads of those for my RC Planes and need to convert them to deans anyways
Anyone got access to CNC/metal milling? I'm looking to convert an SG/SW M82 into a heavy recoil external air rifle, starting the plans in Solidworks this week.
youre much better than the other ramirez
youre much better than the other ramirez
Haha, thanks I think?
I'm debating emailing EdGI and the likes to ask around about 8mm barrels, as I kind of feel such a huge weapon whose real purpose is anti-materiel kind of deserves the larger round, but I'm undecided as of yet. Thoughts?
oh my god yes
but wasn't this ramirez a shady person to buy from according to codemoney

I work in a shop with a few CNC's but don't have access to them. But I'd be happy to review your parts to check for potential problem features that can't be machined, or machined easily. I have Solidworks student edition I can use to check them.
Giving you a heads up though, it's not going to be cheap. To have all the parts to create a recoil system from scratch is going to be at least $1000 to be machined.

I worked in a CNC machine shop and I can back this up.
It's not cheap but the parts quality is probably the best you'll get anywhere.

This again? Someone left a comment on my profile about the exact same thing. I guess Codemonkey forgot to update with the part where I gave him a full refund within (or near it, can't remember to be honest) the first twenty-four hours of him asking for one. Some things apparently went sketchy during shipping, he wasn't happy with the condition it arrived in, I gave him a refund, got the package back, everybody was mostly happy.

That'd be fantastic. I'm only an engineering student, so I'm not an expert on this by any means. I had some ideas for a fairly simple recoil system that shouldn't amount to many parts at all, so I'm hoping it'll reduce the cost substantially.
I'm really wanting to get back into Airsoft again now that I'm back from Greece. With having a good full time job I have a bit more of a budget to work with and I want to get brand new gear here soon once I buy my car and get a little more stable. In the mean time I'll be doing a lot of window shopping and putting together a rough wishlist or loadout I would like to save for.
I am primarily a GBBR guy because I love the realism and I enjoy the maintenance. I currently own a WE G39-C, but what sucks is it's currently discontinued and I need to find a small roller and pin that allows for the bolt to cycle with the magazine inserted.
I've had my eyes on the SCAR because of its apparent good built quality and functionality. I'd love to hear opinions and suggestions from ya'll.
Also, I am trying to decide if I want to continue a STALKER loadout or start fresh with something new and different.

The We scar is amazing, though it suffers the same roller pin that broke in your G36. If you have any questions about it you can shoot me a pm.
