the military likes people who score high on the asvab
Funny because at my recruiting station all the guys who scored high on the asvab want to be infantry and those who scored low want pog jobs
Funny because at my recruiting station all the guys who scored high on the asvab want to be infantry and those who scored low want pog jobs
I actually wanted infantry but there are no reserve infantry units here (my condition to early enlistment for my parents was going to college first), so I settled for the job with the highest paying enlistment bonus and was like, eh, in four years, I'll be an officer and everyone who gave me shit for being a pog will have to address me as sir AND I'll get paid more than them still.
thats the thing people that join infantry typically have the highest asvab scores they could be anything they want but they choose infantry this is going to be me in 2 years.

Just make sure you're in shape and stay in shape before you go to basic, all you gotta do. If you can do the bare minimum and act like you're as tired as the rest of the blokes you're with, you'll be golden.
What was your score?
85 My line scores were all over 100 IIRC. I can go grab my contract right now if you want to know more. I could have done better, but I had to fucking piss SO BAD the entire time and the asshole wouldn't let me take a piss before or during the test.
I didn't even bother trying to enlist as the recruiter told me I wouldn't be able to use an inhaler during boot camp :/ *scrub*
Yeah, asthma automatically disqualifies you from enlistment.
Yeah, asthma automatically disqualifies you from enlistment.
you can actually waiver that I think. I scored 81, but I don't study for shit, I just went to take test on my birthday because I had nothing to do :v: my other scores were over 100 as well. I had a hard time remembering my social so I didn't finish math :c My contract is BY 5900 Electronics Maintenance, but all it is comms repair; I confirmed it just a few months ago although wowoot pointed that out as soon as I got my contract. Might actually be in 29 palms for the 9 months ill be schooling there and be with Vityaz :v: if he still there at least Sad part is my contract is 5 years and I didn't get a bonus. The very least I am contracted as a E-2
I contracted as an E-2 for a referral. I couldn't stand my local JROTC organization so I can't get E-3 before basic. Also 9 months of training sucks bro, thought I guess it could still be worse. 6 year contract here, I didn't know they did 5 year contracts, I was told it was either 8 or 6.

Wait, what branch? I joined the Marines so that could be a factor. Basic training is 3 months and then I get 10 days leave. After my leave I go to MCT which is 2 weeks in Camp Pendelton.... I think, don't quote me. Later I go to my MOS school for Electronics Maintenance for 9 months then off to the fleet or where ever they send me.
how many years active and how many years IRR?
I was talking years total. Army is usually 3-4 active and then IRR for the rest. Plus I'm not minding 8 years, I'm making a career of it, so I may as well be in for as long as possible, less time spent at meps and with paperwork for me. Plus I'm reserve, which is pretty much like the national guard except we're worth more than our weight in sandbags next to the river.
I had a 2x magnifier on a aimpoint once Honestly, it's not very different from normal vision. I'd rather just shell out cash for something that's 3.5x-4x magnification
I've read and eye relief on 3x to 4x scopes don't seem great (about 2.5" for 3x, 1.5" for 4x) Eh maybe I'd be better off buying a magnifier instead and grabbing a red dot seperately
most magnifiers have awful eye relief
Most magnified optics in general have awful eye relief from what I've read, that's why I thought it'd be better to have one that can pivot to the side (and out of the way) if I don't need it at that moment.
no i mean magnifiers have
AWFUL
eye relief that's awful in

tags that's literally how bad magnifier eye relief is
It's like there's no way to win with scopes :(
eye relief for decent magnified optics isnt even that bad
It's like there's no way to win with scopes :(
Mount more scopes. There's a reason you have side rails and a really really long front rail.
its true my 3x eotech magnifier has horrid eye relief why is that anyway
eye relief for decent magnified optics isnt even that bad
Any optics you'd recommend me for my M16A3?
RCO/ACOG go
elcan c79/m145
its true my 3x eotech magnifier has horrid eye relief why is that anyway
Because its a replica, and replica optics have inherently bad eye relief, along with their other optical characteristics, presumably due to their cheap construction.
So you if wanted decent magnification without horrid eye relief, spending a lot on real steel is pretty much the only choice?
So you if wanted decent magnification without horrid eye relief, spending a lot on real steel is pretty much the only choice?
Even the real ACOG has bad eye relief
Is there any scope (airsoft or realsteel) that has good eye relief for whatever magnification it gives?
NO EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE
