is airsoft IPSC even alive in the US anymore?
I really really want to get into a race pistol.
I'd imagine airsoft IPSC would be a good 'gateway' for real steel IPSC.
if anyone in IFAP deserves a racegun, it's biscuit boy
I'm going to make my Hi capa 5.1 into a Race Gun eventually..
Also, HGA has a neat electronic range with a speed shooting mode that's a lot of fun to compete in using GBBs.

I saw a guy selling his 6 inch AS 1911 for $1500. Poor bastard. Airsoft Surgeon stuff looks really cool but good god who the hell buys this stuff outside of Asia/Countries with strict anti-gun laws? Airsoft is cheap as fuck compared to other hobbies like cars and golf, so if you're a bored adult with a good job, stuff like this isn't that big a deal.
As someone planning to buy a $1300 AEG for no other reason besides its appearance, I imagine I fit right into this group.

Hmmmm I guess so. It seems to me that if someone in the US wants to get into IPSC and has that kind of money (I'm guessing a good race pistol will run about $3000 if you make it yourself) then you might as well go real steel. At the $3000 mark I assume that things such as ammo won't be an issue. In countries like Japan then its understandable but in the US it seems silly to me. To each their own I suppose.
you could p build a nice race pistol for $1000

idk why people buy the redwolf ones for like $3000

real steel STI pistols like tactical 4.0 and 5.0 (aka realsteel hicapa 4.3 and 5.1) are like a good bit over 2k new

Is this http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=38296 just a regular G&G CM with a CASV, LE stock, and lolPEQ? Because it's cheaper than buying a Combat Machine and a CASV separately.
Are there any off-the-shelf MOSFETs that you guys recommend?

Then you have to put another $1-2k into them. The RS race guns people compete with are easily $8k guns.
Also you have to keep in mind that some people collect airsoft the way RS is collected here in the US and in the UK/Europe. There is a finite supply of certain things, therefore makes them more expensive/desirable.
So I know it's not exactly IPSC.
But, I've been to several local .22 LR competitions, and have won a couple of Academy gift cards by kicking ass with my 10/22. (100$ for first, 50$ for second)
Unfortunately, it seems like less and less people are interested in competitive shooting sports.
Cowboy Action competitions are rather popular in the South, but I don't have the money nor am I old enough to buy a nice single action revolver.
Do you guys SOAP your eye protection ?
No, use shower gel as a anti-fogging solution.
I use dishwashing liquid, works pretty good.
I use these buggers

My eyepro is actually a low profile full seal shooter-glasses-type eyepro, and it has no room for air to circulate
Defog it works wonders

It's not very practical on regular eye wear.

Here is my glasses. With intense sweat during psychically demanding missions/tasks, one good coating will last 40 min without problems.
The morning of a game, I take the lens out of my goggles, and squirt a large drop of dish soap onto the lens. Then I use my fingers to spread it around to evenly coat the lens. Then, I take a tissue or towel and scrub the lens, getting another as the one I'm using gets permeated, and keep doing this until I've buffed it dry. Then one more buffing with a dry cloth/tissue to get an even finish and it's good to go. Haven't had any fogging issues when the lens is properly treated this way.
I have some antifog spray I got at big 5. I just spray it on and spread it around. Its clear enough to see through easily and does a decent job at keeping my glasses fog-free.
