i have literally no idea where saphique is getting his information from
the mags are nowhere near close to g36 mags (they're not obnoxiously wide) and g&g prolines are great guns (for people with experience, g&g makes more than just combat machines)
mags will probably be a bit hard to find (never looked) but good on you for choosing the 550, at least it actually has some battery space unlike the compact models
Aren't these the mags with extra long followers so they can feed every single BB?
only on the g&g stock realcap (lol)

Well, that's heartening news. I did do a bit of a scout around for reviews and such before purchasing, but they mainly covered the basics and said nothing of the lifespan of the gun, so I was a bit unsure, especially with it being my first purchase. Since nobody's came out and said it's a terrible gun and I'm a bad person for buying it, I feel happier about it.
I managed to get hicaps for it quite easily actually, the site I got the gun from were out of stock but the first site I searched for had several in stock. The only thing to worry about now is if they'll fit in the magazine pockets of my Alpenflage jacket since they were designed for Stgw57 mags. I could always store them in one of the thousands of other pockets that jacket has if they don't fit, though.
stg57 mags are fucking gigantic compared to 55x mags so i wouldn't really worry

Excellent, I couldn't find any dimensions for the hicaps anywhere so it was sort of just buy them and hope.
Thanks for the info!
I have been thinking about making a Half Life 2 rebel loadout for quite a while now

How can I use this? It's not a shemagh, it's a piece of cloth made like a tube. It's a 8-in-1 setup but I have no idea how to use it in 8 different ways :v:
Who here has an S&T Tavor? I have some questions about it.

Condor Recon Wrap?
Pull it over your head where you can't see, pull the bottom part of the top hole so that it goes either over your nose or under your chin(depending how well you want to breathe).
There are quite a few other things you can do with it, like wear it as neck protection, or as a headband.
It's also possible to wear it like a balaclava, right?
Si senor
Ah yeah, I got it. I swear, this thing is a fucking engineering marvel.
So I'm doing my M14 hop up, how the fuck do I re-insert the little nub? Also: I touched a tiny spring and it flew off somewhere, basically I need it to work my hop-up.
How fucked am I?
Fuck springs.
Your hop up will not function without that spring.
Is the ICS L85a2 a good gun?
it honestly depends
the three people i've known with one (qqn and two of my irl friends) have had issues with them after a while (faulty trigger switch, overhop like fuck, and bent outer barrel respectively)
yours might be fine it just depends on ics luck of the draw
remember, ics:it can suck
Would a WE GBBR L85 be better?
impossible to do a direct comparison between aeg and gbbr
i'd get the g&g (aeg) personally and disable the blowback
I used a spring from a ball point pen and it worked
I AM GOD

Are there any consistently good ICS guns?
Are there any consistently good ICS guns?
Having an in with the US ICS distributor, I can say that the only gun I would trust to be consistently good from them is their pro-line mp5's. The ones with the stamped steel receiver and the three round burst.

You're in with an ICS distributor?
I thought an ICS distributor was in with your mom.
I feel so good after fixing my gun's hop-up, I just need to test it to see if it worked.

I mean, is it a better choice? Hasn't the G&G AEG one been discontinued?

Well seeing as I'll likely have a job there within the next few weeks, I'd say my original statement was good lol.

The G&G is miles ahead of any other L85, they're great, and no they aren't discontinued.

Also, some of the G&G L85's come with their very well made SUSAT for free.
I'm considering doing a South Ossetia War loadout, seeing as I'm moving to Georgia. M81 and an AK74 would be kosher, right? What kind of kit did they use? Google images is not helping me much.

Also, did they use AMD65's?

Hi there, I lived in Tbilisi a while back and still have contact with people living there so I might be able to help you out. Georgian soldiers are equipped with M81 but are increasingly moving to MARPAT. Most of their gear is donated by various NATO countries so they have a HUGE diversity of gear, they used whatever they could get.
Yes, they do use AMD-65s that were donated by Hungary in 2005. They weren't exactly common, though. Most rifles were AKMs and other 7.62 AK variants, although they do have AK-74s and some NATO 5.56 weapons. Here are some photos that may be of use, all of them are from before or during the war:

As you can see, not a whole lot of standardization of gear, so it'll be hard to distinctly recognize a loadout as Georgian and not 'confused American with an AK'. I'd suggest seeing if you can find one of those flag patches. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Does their MARPAT have the EGA?
