CVC with kevlar should be about ~3-5 pounds, and if you get one for a good price and don't care about the weight, go for it. For airshit, fiberglass is great because it doesn't flex like plastic helmets and is significantly lighter than a kevlar helmet, also much cheaper. apoc, I didn't understand your post fully so what I just said might be just something completely different from what I thought you were asking.

Thanks both of you [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] Also, if I just buy a shell, what else do I need besides a liner?
Are you buying a legit CVC or an airsoft version? If a legit shell, I don't know much of liners and shit for that type of helmet. If you're buying the airsoft one, just buy helmet straps and drill out 4 holes. Two in the front and two in the rear so you can screw the straps into the helmet, although I don't know for sure if the rear of the helmet has the screws in the proper position. Also for maximum comfort buy the Ops-Core suspension system for the helmet, its $60 but it's extremely worth it. For padding, Skydex padding is really good. You don't need to buy what I suggested, it's just imo what I think is best, and i've went through alot of straps and padding types. Also this is a picture of the drilling, http://airsoftsquad.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/cvc-drill.jpg?w=620&h=553 This is an airsoft CVC so like I said, i'm not sure about the position of the screws if they're the same as a legit CVC.
I was just looking on ebay, I assume they're real. Where can you get an airshit one?
I honestly have no idea. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Oh well shit, I just searched it up and couldn't find an airsoft CVC. Wow okay, I guess you'll have to buy a real one on ebay.. but just do what I said, drill it out and add helmet straps and padding. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Sorry for all that mis-info, I believed there would be a CVC replica, seeing as nearly everything is replicated but I was wrong. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Also, if you search DH-132 on ebay, that's the model for the fiberglass shell only CVC.. it is still real though and should be quite a bit cheaper. So if you don't want the extra pounds of kevlar, get that one but you'll have to drill and shit for the helmet straps also they make conversion kits now on ebay for the CVC with helmet straps already, just look around a little bit. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Also, these are the model numbers for the CVC. DH-132 - Fiberglass only shell. DH-132A - Kevlar rated 1400 fps ballistic resistance. DH-132B - Kevlar rated 2150 fps ballistic resistance. Identifiable due to thickness of Kevlar and double bolts over each temple area. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Here's one I found with a quick search on ebay, pricey but it's basically what you want. Unsure if it is a fiberglass shell or kevlar but it already has the chin strap installed and padding. My dh-132a is not very heavy at all
CVC helmets are so damn pricey on ebay because it seems like so many people buy the kevlar ones just to ditch everything but the shell and turn them into boring ordinary helmets. I had to browse ebay every day for months to find the one i bought, The fiberglass ones are probably worth nothing to the people who convert them, so those would likely be easier to find.
I paid 20 dollars for my dh-132a
alright, about to make my purchase. one last decision: JG M4 CQB-R or the G&G M4 Raider?
G&G M4 Raider. Seriously, they're fantastic out of the box.

The JG is so chinashit it isnt funny. The G&G will shoot laser beams and can handle an 11.1v lipo without batting an eye.
well to be fair the jg (assuming it's the enhanced) does have one thing on the g&g, the fantastic jg blue instead of hurr durr g&g slowmotor it's only a 30 dollar upgrade though so it shouldn't really influence your purchase considering the rest is mediocre to awful
ugh, almost bought the $190 G&G. turns out that it includes a smart charger for $25 got it for $150
what did you do with the remaining $$$

Opinions on a Korean War loadout with ICS M1 Garand? M43 Uniform, jump boots, Korean war M1 Helmet, '45 Pack, OD 7 Cartridge belt with OD 7 FAP, canteen cover, etc. Maybe some other cool Korean war shit I have laying around. Sounds like a fun impression, and I already have all the shit + HBTs for summer months, 2nd Pattern HBTs are great for Korea.
If you don't wear the M51 fishtail parka I'm rating you 0/10

Not sure if that matters to you or not. just want you to be informed.
the ics m1 garand is balls, how many times do I have to tell you
the ics m1 garand is balls, how many times do I have to tell you
I want to get as many opinions as I can, especially facts like Herf posted.
I wanna do US Infantry and Airborne in the future now that I have a job again. I wanna do like Battle of the Bulge or something for winter since I obviously can't run Vietnam and look good doing it during the winter. Vandy pls help
When I pull the trigger on my Dboys RK-10S [del]it sounds like plastic is burning in the fuse socket[/del], it also gets really warm. Okay nevermind, there's no burnt plastic and bypassing the fuse did nothing, but the motor gets really warm now and it still doesn't work. [editline]8th August 2013[/editline] OK NEVERMIND THERE WAS A PIECE OF POT METAL THAT CAME FROM NOWHERE INSIDE THE PISTOL GRIP THAT SHORTED/BLOCKED THE ENGINE OR SOMETHING. DERP.
How is the KJW ruger 10/22?
Lots of people say it's stupid dangerous, cheap and horrible
i have never seen a single person mention anything like that about the gun
Lots of people say it's stupid dangerous, cheap and horrible, but there's an astounding list of ghetto mods you can do to it, and I've been on the fence about getting the rifle version for a long time.
You're thinking about this one(MKI): http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_45_241&products_id=24078 He asked about this one(10/22): http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_45_241&products_id=36959
