If am going to buy an LMG, which should I get? Later this summer I'll probably buy one of these three. A&K M249 Para (I like folding stock) with sling Cyma CM052 RPK with drum mag or A&K MK43 I like all three. Cosmetically I like the RPK the most, and the M249 the least. Weight isn't an issue, cross country training will harden me up. Price for all is about equal once I add what I consider necessary accessories. I'm just having a hard time choosing.

IIRC Cyma RPKs are a lot like their AKs (in that they're not poop)

Even cheap ones are like $50 and that puts it just under the Mk43. So I've narrowed it down to MK43 and RPK
A friend of mine is buying an A&K Para M249 for like $130 or some shit. He wants to know if he can replace the hop up (with relative ease meaning lots of compatible units) and if a "jammed" boxmag can be fixed or what. I'm asking for him, I would have stayed away from it all together.
only compatible chambers are the a&k and ca you can fix the mag by taking it apart and manually removing the jam but then you gotta put it back together and there's always the chance of a fuckup it's basically a huge hicap with a circuit board inside though [editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
If am going to buy an LMG, which should I get? Would have to wait until my birthday... in november. When no one wants to airsoft It and the VFC SCAR SSR are my dream guns. Someday
as hicapas go, Used WA or New TM? also US TM retailer?
Don't buy WA anything unless you have unlimited dollars, patience, and time to work on it. Evike, GI, and airsoftatlanta normally have TM's in stock. [editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
I do really like the PKM but it is wayyyy far out of my budget to be honest. Personally, I'd try and get some oddjobs in and save up for one of those guns.

Ehobbyasia recommended: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-11-1v-1000mah-20c-li-po-battery-t-plug.html for soon my: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-m4-special-operation-full-metal-aeg.html Will it hold it or do you guys recommend a lower battery? And what do you guys advice as a later upgrade for this gun? Thank you!
Both are great choices, although if you go to a dedicated hobby/battery shop, you can get a longer lasting battery in the same size for less money. If you're not comfortable with eventually replacing some parts in your gun (although that G&P will still last a very long time on the 11.1v), you can downgrade to a 7.4v lipo for a lower ROF and a little less stress on your parts. Upgrades on a G&P would include hopup parts like a new bucking, spacer, and inner barrel, as well as any kind of external accessories that you would like to add on. Either way, that's one of the best M4's on the market (especially with all the free, good quality stuff it comes with) and you should be really happy with it.
Aaah thanks! So whats the best barrel for 0.25bb's?
Prometheus 6.03mm with a Prometheus Purple Bucking / Modify Clear bucking in a Prometheus Neo-Strike Chamber or a Pro-Win Chamber with Flat Hop or a Concave spacer is the best you can do without R-Hop.
I just found this rifle, it looks pretty nice. But is good as a starter gun? http://www.airsoftstation.com/dboys-mk614-full-meta-ris-aeg-airsoft-gun.html#.UXRt7rUqx8E

You have a lot of options out there, and most of them are gonna be very similar in performance. I like the Prometheus 6.05 ASH barrels a lot, but for most other companies you'll want a 6.03 barrel. Madbull Black Pythons are good, as are prometheus steel barrels, but there aren't really any bad options as long as you go 6.03 and use a metal that isn't brass. However, while barrel is important, the most important bits are the bucking and the spacer/nub, and they're also the cheapest bits. For buckings, the guarder clear, the standard G&P that your gun comes with, prometheus buckings, and firefly buckings, while for spacers you should look for either a concave or h-shaped nub with brand not mattering that much.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4587 or http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=7284 Just don't get the ones that have Blow Back.
read the megathraed!1!
Does anyone know anything about Cyma G36 gearboxes? My dad is going to buy me a replacement for the time being until I have the money to replace parts inside the one I have now, or I guess the Cyma since I'll have that. I know the CM02b gets a lot of praise so it shouldn't be too bad, right?

I got a Dboys BI-3981 M4, and it runs really good. A lot better than most people say. I also know quite a lot people who got that gun too, and they got no problems with it. I've probably shot around 2000 - 2500 bbs through it and it works just fine! Since it is made in china, there is a chance that you might get a broken copy. But hey, that could happen to any make of guns. I can't personally recommend the one you linked, but i can really recommend the BI-3981. Also, good thing is that when you eventually upgrade it, you have a full metal body, which is nice.
I took apart my Dboys M4SD and cannibalized it for parts because it's an M4SD and nobody loves it. But now my Type 89 is happy and that's all that matters. I could probably get the M4SD in working order again but I lack motivation. The gearbox works so I'm happy, but the hopup is a POS I wonder Why does everyone have Dboys SCAR-Ls and not have problems with those? Do Dboys SCAR-Ls use the same gearboxes as Dboys M4s?
What are good first time shotguns? Preferably not to expensive.

Also, you'll want extra shells. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=60_121&products_id=3222
Sorry for the spam but last question: Thoughts on this gun? I've read ICS is a good one. http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_221&products_id=42399
At that price, a better bet would be a Combat Machine by G&G.
