hey, looking to get a second AEG. I was going to tastefully rail an AK of some sort but ASGI has this in stock. opinions? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=15396
I'd be very very skeptical of any polymer-bodied Lancer gun. Their externals are VERY subpar, and you can take their M4s and twist and bend them about two inches at the delta ring.

They also have a metal bodied version. Think that might be better? the only reason i don't jump to the CM050 is the rails on this one. I totally dig the front end and it looks like it might be hard to replicate.
They also have a metal bodied version. Think that might be better?
Everyone here swears by the CYMA. I've used one myself (CM052/RPK) and its one of the nicest AK-type AEGs I've ever used.

Its one thing to have it be modernized with some rails, but a full RIS is generally awful.
That rail is easily purchased AFAIK http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_106_280&products_id=43614 ??

didn't notice the four other POSTS
thanks guys. I'll probably just grab the CYMA then. didn't know the rail was there, hadn't spotted it.
why is the U in USP Universal There's not a single thing universal about it when there's more than one variant and they all have magazines made for each variant, AND it needs a damned adaptor for a rail when it should already have one. IIRC some of the magazines are interchangeable but C'MON
As much as don't care for tactical AKs, that thing is actually pretty neat. + it has the coathanger stock so i could theoretically get one and just swap the handguard for east german super funtimes. Are they any good in comparison to the other CYMA AKs?
there's ebb but iirc it's just a thing on the otherwise standard bolt carrier that goes into the gearbox slot so it should be easy to disable otherwise it's the same as the 040/045/048/052

Deathmog: In regards to the boots, if I had my dads boots from his time in the service, I wouldn't permanently alter them. If they started as black, it will be very hard to make them an acceptable shade of brown. You could always make the brown ones black, and if he did that, you can strip them with denatured alcohol/rubbing alcohol and redye them with dye/cotton ball from the shoe/leather store. Good luck!
Okay! I'm pretty much just weighing my options here, if it comes down to purchasing a pair of boots, I believe Cubeman has a pair that will fit me, but I haven't talked to him about it at all yet.
Where can I find cheaper AFG replica? :(

Are all cyma Ak's very front heavy?
My friends plastic body cm031 is but my full metal cm048 is pretty even when it comes to weight distribution. I would guess that full metal ones are not front heavy.

dx is generally reliable speed of tortoise but slow and steady wins the race etc
how necessary is a fuse?
not very [editline]25th September 2013[/editline] it just increases resistance for no real benefit and there's really no situation where you'd really need one to protect your wiring/battery unless you're running like g&p m120+dsg+m170 or something stupid
yay no more cramming shit into my stock
[T]http://i.imgur.com/7BfUAjc.png[/T] This is all stuff that I need/want. I'm not going to spend more than about 80 bucks. The Propane adapter and Tamiya Large-small connecter are going to get ordered regardless. Would it be a good idea to go for the sling and the spare mag or something to get that up to the 80 dollar limit that I'm setting for myself, or should I go for one of the lights first? (The reason I seem so obsessed over lights is because I'm going to a night op in November)
I'd recommend a different face mask, the one's that don't cover the ears are generally pretty uncomfortable. Also remember that having a light on your pistol means you need a holster that fits it as well, so only go for that if you have one already. I'd probably compromise and get the MP5 light and sling, as it will allow you to be at your most efficient. Slings are not to be underestimated ever, and that light will help you a lot at your night op. Oh yeah, if you don't know, Evike almost always has a 20% coupon, and sometimes bigger ones, so you should still be within your limit.
dont get a metal propane adapter, get a plastic one. Its easier on your fill valves. The Airsoft Innovations one is fantastic and it even comes with a little bottle of silicone oil. [editline]26th September 2013[/editline] http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=28087
