My parents raised my brother and me in a comfortable environment of intellectualism. My Father and Mother have both old me several times that they're proud of me for just how I act.

I'm fine with that as long they don't say it to me personally and keep it to themselves! :)

My parents aren't assholes like op's might be. As long as I earn a stable living for myself my parents are already proud, according to them.

OP, if you're a disappointment to your parents, that's unfortunate, but don't drag everyone else down with you by trying to convince us everyone's parents are disappointed in them.

You see, in life there are the one who succeed, and the one who don't. I guess you know where you all belong. As for else, life by itself sucks, you are the one who makes it fun. Being emotional won't make life any better, or fun. Raise your chin and look at life like a man.

My parents are proud of me and I'm a total fuckup compared to everyone I know probably because I'm marginally less of a failure than they were I'm the first in the family to maybe-kind-of-one-day-possibly think of maybe-kind-of-nah-probably-not-but-maybe going to university

Since my parents have spent thousands of dolars in keeping me alive and giving me occasional gift and medical things, ect, I don't hate my parents, but I wouldn't let them change anything I want to do if I disagreed what they were trying to say in some situation. I don't love people unconditionally - I think my siblings as aquantinces - I was forced to live with them and that's the only reason I know them, and I see no reason to love them. If it was some other random person who you were forced to live with for years, you wouldn't love them, and just because they happened to be related I don't think I should think of them differently. [/quote] success isn't objective, so I guess we all can do things totally opposite and all succeed.

Family is deeply rooted and you should make an effort yourself to become better friends with your father/mother and siblings, as how you treat them will reflect how you treat males/females that you mee through your life not only that, but when your family dies, you will regret never having made peace/friends, of course this depends on your outlook, but i'm approaching this from a general/popularized worldview.

First generation born in America, and first in my whole family to graduate High School and go to college. Yeah I'm a dishonor.

My daddy loves and cherishes me. He even wrote me a really lovely book about it, once. To balance it out, my mom fled to a Sioux Indian reservation and had a bunch of chubby red-skinned babies (usually after "spirit quests" involving fasting and drugs [which is commendable, really, because a lot of the drugs she was taking probably gave her some serious munchies]). I think that's kinda more funny than sad, but I guess the sting of abandonment has been dulled with time, and the level of hilarity-versus-tragedy is a matter of perception. Any time I get sad about it, I watch a video from her YouTube channel.
