What? I can't even think of a way to respond properly to a post like this According to your logic, shouldn't it be the exact opposite? You don't want to shift all the time, so you would get an automatic? Either way, the 2.2 is known for its bottom end torque. If you know how to utilize all the features of the 4eat, you can go from 40 up to 60 fairly quick with just kicking it out of OD in 4th.
Still relatively low compared to a lot of motors. We all know auto is good if you're lazy :v: but I mean to keep it within the sweet spot.

We all know auto is good if you're lazy :v: but I mean to keep it within the sweet spot.
Like I said in past posts, the 4eat has the manual shift feature. I can keep it in the sweet spot (3000-5500rpms) through most of my driving, except when I'm at a stop. I've driven my car with the 4eat, and my friend's modified Legacy GT with the 5mt. I like the auto more, the gear ratios just feel better. I'm not just trying to be lazy. I love driving my dad's 2000 Ford F250 PowerStroke Diesel with the 6-speed manual. Subaru's are one of the rare cases where I'd pick an auto over a manual
I looked for a manual Subaru Liberty (I think overseas they're called Legacy) or Impreza. I couldn't find a decent manual one so I didn't get one at all :V: [editline]4th January 2012[/editline]
subarus, especially a outback, are total hipster cars
Not buying a car because it's "hipster" is dumb as fuck, who cares?
Yeah, Legacy here. Basically an Impreza for a person with a family. Can even have the same engine as the WRX/STI.

Subarus (or whatever the plural form is) are alltogether generally great cars, their gearboxes however... uh, yea... I think I'll stop now.
Weeeeeelllll, they've mostly fixed that problem now. And it has a lot to do with AWD too.
