So maybe that part might be fake to assure he doesn't die, but he still does a lot of other things and teaches some things.

Les Stroud does everything on his own. It's just him, and his cameras. He had one episode with a buddy who knew nothing about survival and he had to take care of him, other than that hes all alone for a week in the middle of anywhere.

I like how you guys are calling him a phony. The whole point of his show is that he puts himself into situations where it may be hard to escape, and then shows you how to get out. I believe he even jumped into quicksand one time just to show you how to escape. Not to mention, Les has his crew only about a mile to two away from him.

Les and his family actually go out into the deep Canadian woods and live on their own and build their own house out of logs. Look up, [I]Off The Grid[/I]. Anyways, i'm sure Grylls is a tough guy, i'm sure he could survive on his own, i'm just saying i would feel much safer with Stroud in a survival situation.
