Scatman John is my hero - My tribute to Scatman John

He was a rad man. Pretty brave to actually sing even though he stuttered. Even if I've never heard of him I would say that he had balls.
I was listening to Scatman when I read this, I had to stop the song because it brought a tear to my eye.
Edit:
If it hadn't been for Cotton Eyed Joe, I'd have been married a long time ago! Where did ya come from where did ya go, Where did ya come from Cotton Eyed Joe?
:911:
I never herd of him before, but I am a huge fan, as of now.
He was a true american hero. I too idolize him thanks to you, Cosmic Duck.
(Almost typed Cosmic Fuck, just trying to brighten the mood, because Scatman's songs combined with the fact that he was a great hero and also dead makes this a pretty gloom place. :crying:)
"Whatever God wants is fine by me... I've had the very best life. I have tasted beauty."
Wow, that's really touching...
He's amazing. His music is awesome.
His music cannot be described by words.
Except for paa pee poo pae po.
I don't know why, but I find his death ironic. He died of lung cancer right? And he was a scatman, so he always had scat in his lungs? What else is scat? Poop.
Meh, anyway, John the Scatman is TOTALLY FUCKING RAD
Has he made actually that many albums? I've heard maybe 2-3 songs from him at most but I like what I hear for certain.
This thread should never die, just like john's spirit.
"Scatman, fat man, black and white and brown man. Tell me 'bout the colour of your soul."
Beautiful quote.
I really liked his song about Lebanon.
There aren't too many artists who had the guts to put a good truthful message in their music.
I love every single one of his songs that I know of.
I used to listen to him all of the time...man I miss this guy and his inspirational words :(
I am so sad that Scatman John died. The best always die early...
You will live in peace in your world.. WE WON'T EVER FORGET YOU SCATMAN NEVER!
It sucks when people who are so good at what they do die when they still have years ahead of them.
RIP Scatman John :(
I'm not a stutterer, but hey, I've been known to stammer on occasion...like John once said, "Everybody stutters one way or the other..." ain't that the truth!
I must say he himself made me aware about people who stutter, that it's not a serious mental condition or anything. I remember when we talked on the phone, at times he'd apologize for his stuttering, but it didn't bother me at all...I seemed to see right through that...all I thought was, "Hey, I'm talkin to the Scatman!"
John was a rare celebrity, one who didn't have to hide behind pretense or superficiality. Sure he had a lot of money, but he lived rather modestly for a pop star and it was quite clear that the material things in life didn't really matter that much to him. Everything about him was real and down-to-earth. I don't think there's anyone who can say anything bad about him. and John never said anything bad about anybody. He sung about a "Scatman's World," which some may scoff and think of as childish or idyllic, but John gave us a vision, a vision of what could be if we opened our hearts and minds. John may not be around anymore, but there will always be a "Scatman's World." Or at least we should all be working towards one.
John Larkin never stuttered. Because every word he said was worth repeating.
It's funny how life goes. One minute you're riding the train in France, listening to the radio and suddenly you hear, "SCA-BA-BIBBLY-O-BOP....I'M THE SCATMAN!" The next minute you're mourning the loss of a friend.
Goodbye, Scatman. Have fun up there scatting with Satchmo. Everybody jam.

That's so upsetting. :(

I don't think I can read any more comments. :(
I know this is a bump, but I'm listening to his music right now (I listen to it almost everyday) and this song really hit me just now. I feel really, really, really sad right now. He was such a great person.

"Scatman" John Paul Larkin never stuttered, because every word he said was, and is, worth repeating.
