I simply use the school industrial grade laser printer, black and white prints look badass too.
The cartridges are fucking expensive here, so I'm fucked.
I used this for my art and got shouted at for wasting school ink :( I did print off like 70 pages though.
I managed to come to an agreement with a company who are going to print off 8 of these rasterbated PDFs in high quality ink and paper for just £30! Fucking bargain!
My brother has one of these in his room. Their Ninja Turtles, but for some reason they all have red bandanas, it looks badass because he doesn't have those crappy ones.
Or you could just go to a Kinko's or Office Max and get them to print out a proper image without the massive dots or the ugly borders. Would probably cost about the same as if you bought the ink in the first place. You could even put multiple posters side by side to form the massive one you are trying to make.

Printed this out with school ink, suckers....
God that's such low quality.
You need a laser printer to do this effectively. We rasterbated a 40-foot poster at my university and hung it up on the engineering building. That took like $10 worth of printing quota, and required some engineering skills to rearrange in the correct pattern after printing.

Why did I agree to pay tens of thousands of dollars to learn this!?

As for me, these posters contain huge gaps between the sheets. There is - http://www.ronyasoft.com/products/proposter/en/ a much better program for poster printing. It leaves markers for bonding to the poster looks like a single unit
