So I got caught up enough in the Guardians hype to buy the mobile game and damn it's actually really fun. I fully recommend it to anyone who's thinking about getting it.

Also I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but there's a chance a good Guardians comic may be starting soon.
Dan Abnett, one of the lead 2 writer of the 2008 run is going to be writing Guardians 3000 which will be based upon the original Guardians of the Galaxy team. There was a 10 page lead-up in issue #14 of Bendis' GotG(I know, I know) but I recommend obtaining it in some fashion so you can read the prelude.

That's one hell of a sausage fest.
When Thanos gets the infinity gauntlet in the comics the storyline basically becomes "OKAY EVERYONE, RUN AWAY"
Not very fun to watch in my opinion.
Nah man, it becomes "OKAY EVERYONE, THROW YOURSELVES AT HIM AND WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO DISTRACT HIM WITH YOUR DEATHS LONG ENOUGH TO SET EVERYTHING BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS. ALMOST. MAYBE."
Thanos will get the [sp]infinity stones from the Nova Corps and The Collector[/sp] at some point (hopefully in the sequel).
I think it would be pretty cool to show [sp] Thanos attacking Nova Corps, and a few scenes of him gathering the stones before using the gauntlet. [/sp]
I think it would be pretty cool to show [sp] Thanos doing anything besides getting backtalked and betrayed by his minions like a bitch.[/sp]

[sp]I really hope that there is a Richard Rider Nova movie that shows the fall of Xandar, but by the hands of Thanos. I think that would make a baller movie, and have good connections to the universe as Thanos needs to get the gem that is held on Xandar.[/sp]

i think the way they're gonna go about it is pretty obvious (i'm hoping it's a bit different but i wouldn't mind it if it was like this):
[sp]much like loki did in the first avengers film, thanos is going to arrive somewhere and steal one of the stones. then, its gonna be a race for the other infinity gems, with thanos defeating the avengers, getting all of the stones at around 3/4 of the film, do most of what he did in the comics, and then be defeated somehow[/sp]
[editline]7th August 2014[/editline]
also, they're going to pull a worf effect at some point with thanos defeating the hulk (though actually, it's very possible that ends up happening with one of the other avengers movies)
the soundtrack is so excellent. It is truly an awesome mix

My theatre had a wall sized glowing version of this poster with nothing but the title on it.
I want it.

Well, chances are Age of Ultron is going to use time travel already, so using that AGAIN will be hella boring.

Why do you think Age of Ultron would use time travel? I haven't seen anything that could implicate that so far..

1. I'm willing to bet money that it won't.
2. I wasn't referring to time travel. I was referring to (SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T READ INFINITY GAUNTLET, DO IT, IT'S A REALLY GOOD READ) [sp]Adam Warlock getting the Gauntlet, un-killing half the fucking universe, then acting as the actual, factual sentient God of everything[/sp].
If they do the Infinity Gauntlet movie PERFECTLY, it'll play out something like this:
ACT 1: the GotG show up on Dr. Strange's doorstep preaching all sorts of doom. Maybe they have a misunderstanding fight with the Avengers or something. Flashback shows them trying to keep Thanos from getting the last stone, failing, narrowly escaping. Thanos ruminates on being a God with Loki/Mephisto (whichever is around to be his new yes-man), blinks half of everyone out of existence.
ACT 2: They formulate a plan, Strange opens a portal, they go to fight Thanos
ACT 3: They fight Thanos.
One of the best things about Infinity Gauntlet is how the first half is a bunch of crazy cosmic "so this is what it feels like to be omnipotent, all that is and is not, etc. etc." stuff, then the second half is just a big fight on a temple to Death floating through the blackness of space.
I want to see the Guardians duke it out with the Avengers in Avengers 3 but I can't help but worry "THE SUPER HEROES FIGHT" could become too formulaic for an Avengers movie at that point.
We already know from concept art that Hulk and Iron Man will fight in Avengers 2. I love the super hero fights. I want more of them in Avengers 3. But I can't see how to do it without it starting to become obviously contrived.

At least them tussling with the Guardians will be something new.
Hulk ain't never faced no Groot before.

I dunno, Hulk in the Avengers film seemed way stronger than Groot did in GotG
Saw it again with my parents. Still good as fuck. Mom teared up at [sp]We are Groot[/sp]

Has to be one of the more badass villain costumes I've seen lately in films.

It'll still be an interesting fight though.
Imagine Drax having fight banter with Thor and tell me that's something you wouldn't wanna see, even if it was a quick little scene.

it reminds me of those star wars samurai in auxiliary pics
Is that what Ronan looks like in the comics? He kind of reminded me of some sort of Darth Maul-Chiss-esque thing from Star Wars. Definitely an awesome costume. Wish there were a decently-scaled action figure of him.

He reminds me of Doctor Doom.
Quill's mom has a great taste for music.
[editline]8th August 2014[/editline]
I was so happy to see they used Hooked On a Feeling for the trailer, and I was waiting to actually hear in the movie. So when I saw the guard in the Kyln with Quill's tape player and over the headset you could hear "OOGA OOGA OOGA CHAKA" I was just "yesssssssssssssss!!!"
Not seen it yet. Is the use of Bowie good?
All the music usage is great. They did a good job at making "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" into a thing that subconsciously spirals me into a sad, sniveling mess.
one of my favourite little things about the film was [sp]the relationship between Yondu and Peter. The way Yondu treated Peter was very reminiscient of abusive parenting, making him feel that not treating him terribly was somehow something to be commended. It's something you see often in real life and the way Peter deconstructed it on screen was chilling.[/sp]
I gotta say the ship designs in this were pretty rad to.
The ravager ships are just fucking awesome, Yondu's ship is great, and the Aster was a fantastic foreboding looking evil vessel.
And another thing i loved: Yondu's needle thing. That was badass. It certainly wasn't something you'd see anywhere else. Its nice to see a character with a truly exotic weapon- a wholly unique device- not just a sword or gun with a gimmick.

It was meant to be an arrow since in the comic he used a bow and arrow, were they were they were made made out of a fancy alien metal which react can turn and stuff depending on what pitch he whistled at.
I also liked that whenever he used it or was getting it ready, his little mohawk would start pulsating with lights.

All characters in the film were amazingly designed, with all sort of stuff like this, but in all honesty Yondu was the best of them.
