Damn I've already seen this movie twice yet I still want to watch it more, the movie was just too enjoyable for me
The feels. Multiple times.
"Nothing goes over my head, my reflexes are too quick. I would catch it." Just seen this movie tonight and thought it was really good, gonna give it an 9/10, didn't take itself too seriously and made fun of a lot of super hero movie tropes. Taking a point off for some iffy writing in places and at the end when [sp]Ronan's ship crashes into the city, it's supposedly evacuated but when it crashes everyone is there and somehow not been squished by the massive ship that landed right on top of them[/sp] but at the end of the day it's a comic book movie so that kinda stuff is gonna happen. Good soundtrack too!
I can't stop this feeling. Deep inside of me. Girl, you just don't realize. What you do to me.
So, am I like the only guy on the planet who thought the movie was okay? I felt like everything was happening way to fast, especially towards the beginning. I had a hard time following the story and they changed locations a lot (at the begining they change between like, 6 locations within 15 minutes). Then the whole [sp]holding hands thing at the end was super cheesy[/sp] Really, I still have no idea why [sp]the planet at the end of the movie was being attacked. How did the Guardians even know that was gonna happen?[/sp]
[sp]the planet at the end of the movie was being attacked. the thought occurred to me on my second viewing but i couldn't really tell, is that also michael rooker playing quills grandfather at the beginning of the film? if so thats pretty cool
the thought occurred to me on my second viewing but i couldn't really tell, is that also michael rooker playing quills grandfather at the beginning of the film? if so thats pretty cool
No, Rooker plays Yondu.
well yeah, but also. thought it would be a cool parallel if they'd have thrown that in
That'd just throw people off.
I recognized the grandfather. He played the Panco guy in The Riches
He also acted alongside Michael Rooker in Slither, another James Gunn film.
Oh he was the mayor in Slither? He did seem familiar.
I just came back from watching this with my friends... Holy shit rocket raccoon is badass and kinda cute
Oh he was the mayor in Slither? He did seem familiar.
The mayor is the best character in Slither.
Just saw it, really enjoyed it. Interesting, unique, and funny characters as well as a continuation of the Marvel storyline.
When Yondu said [sp]"I may be as pretty as an angel but I sure as hell ain't one" and then said "hand it over son" I thought the film was implying that he was Quill's father? I knew about J'son and everything but it felt like two lines that seemed to intentionally provoke those kinds of thoughts. Idk maybe it was just me[/sp]

I regret buying the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 album. I can't listen to any of these songs without wanting to go see the movie again immediately.
[sp]I'm pretty sure Yondu refered to Peter's father as a third person at some point[/sp]
[sp]after he said that, yes[/sp]
Saw it again on Saturday. Packed theater this time. Biggest laughs were from Drax and Groot. These two, plus Gamora, are muh favorite characters.
ain't you never had people (especially old folks) call you son? bonus points for sonny jim
Well yeah I know, I thought it was supposed to be like, an intentional double meaning to mislead people I wasn't suggesting that was what I thought because I already knew it was incorrect!
Wow, I just saw it and damn I was impressed. The characters are all good, the action was awesome, and the effects to me were some of the most impressive I've seen in a while. The visuals really stood out to me as well, a lot of it to me looked like more classic styled sci-fi, but with a bit of modern thrown into it.
Adoptive / Kidnaptive father.
his real father is an asshole anyway (as stated by quill and confirmed by quill's henchman)
You mean [sp]Yondu right[/sp]?
I think Peter's dad is going to be Starhawk. [t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6jGsQXkSveA/U-jDtVD0TMI/AAAAAAAAHgk/jpSdWrxvwVY/s1600/starhawk3.png[/t] Asshole? Check. Angel? True. Made of light? Quite. And is he something ancient? You fuckin' know he is man. Also Gunn has said that Starhawk is one of his favorite comic characters and he wants to give him "an important role" at some point.
