quill's dad is actually the beyonder, marvel then uses that explanation as the greatest possible excuse for rebooting the marvel movies with different actors as the beyonder "alters reality"
The one thing I didn't like about this movie was [sp]BUT GROOT YOU'LL DIE. Groot seemed perfectly healthy when he speared those guys and slammed them against everything, but suddenly he dies? And I thought his wooden larynx only allowed "I am groot", how did the "we are" happen? Just confuses me.[/sp] other than that best movie tenouttaten gettin' this shit o nDVD the second it comes out

What does spearing guys have to do with anything?[/sp]
I guess it's more [sp]Groot spreading himself out and absorbing all the impact from the crash, which pretty much rips him to pieces. For example, take a strong oak tree. Stiff wind isn't going to move that but something smaller could be blown over. [/sp] [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] I hope that makes sense, but I totally lost my train of thought in the middle of that.

I guess I muddled it up a little.[/sp]
Going to see it in IMAX 3D on Monday. Totally hyped.
Saw this today, really enjoyed it, a lot more than I thought I would. Also added bonus was seeing the Interstellar trailer on the big screen. It was hair raising.
it saddens me to think how many people are going to miss guardians because they find the premise too silly
it saddens me to think how many people are going to miss guardians because they find the premise too silly
Or because they'd rather go to TMNT...
Or because they'd rather go to TMNT...
That's even worse
it saddens me to think how many people are going to miss guardians because they find the premise too silly
My mom said, "Gaurdians of the Galaxy? Isn't that the dumb movie with talking raccoon and tree thing?" before she saw the movie. After I convinced my family to go see it, she said "Wow, that was a great movie! Really, it was a good movie!" I pity the people that missed out on this film, just because it 'looks dumb'.
Exactly the same thing that happened with my family. Sadly I think that's the movies biggest obstacle right now.
Yeah, the trailers really don't do the movie justice. That reminds me of another thing I appreciate about this film. The trailers did not spoil any of the majorly funny parts. Any comedy that comes out nowadays spoils a good 60-70% (sometimes even more!) of it's jokes in the trailers. Aside from the middle finger joke, the trailers barely gave away any of the film's jokes. So I was surprised when this movie turned out to be really funny.
Just saw it, was really fucking good. Creatively sets the bar pretty high for all other big budget action movies with CG and stuff like that. Some stuff was kind of corny in an awkward way but overall the movie was amazing. That mining operation tho, that fucking sci-fi concept is godliiike. rocket was kind of freaky in a uncanny valley furbait way, especially when all they do is close ups of his ultra high-tech next gen facial expressions. But I got used to it. I really hated Bradley Cooper doing his voice, I wish they got some tough sounding british guy like they did for MVC3. Also I accidentally said "Fuck off" a bit too loud in the theater in the post-credits scene. I mean... I don't need any more emotional scarring. [sp]Howard The Duck[/sp]

bradley cooper was the one thing i didn't like about the movie 'ooohh.... yeahh...' talk about cringe town. get outta movies, will tippin
bradley cooper was the one thing i didn't like about the movie 'ooohh.... yeahh...' talk about cringe town. get outta movies, will tippin
I found that line cringey, but not because of Cooper. The scene was fast paced, lots of action happening but as soon as Rocket caught the gun, it all slowed down so he could say that line. Far from the campiest thing in the film, but enough to unnecessarily break the flow.
[sp]So the Groot that is being grown again will it remember every thing that happened or is it an offspring[/sp]
[sp]So the Groot that is being grown again will it remember every thing that happened or is it an offspring[/sp]
[sp] He's got healing factor. It's him.[/sp]
[sp]So the Groot that is being grown again will it remember every thing that happened or is it an offspring[/sp]
[sp]Groot can't die. As long as you replant him he will grow[/sp]
it still baffles me how they managed to pick such a perfect soundtrack to this movie
Apparently to promote Guardians over here in Brazil Marvel hired some graffiti artists to make banners on the subway stations for the movie. Okay. Context has been delivered... here's Groot. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/aPnWxyH.jpg[/img_thumb]
not too bad tbh groot has always looked weird in the comics

"I'm not Groot."
I agree I wish Rocket had the cockney accent but Bradley Cooper did a decent job voicing Rocket.
Cockney accents are the worst, especially in fiction. No one should talk with one unless the character actually comes from London, a space raccoon definitely shouldn't have one.
I thought bradley cooper did a fantastic job with rocket
