I hope the obscure source material doesn't put off the audience. It would be a shame if it did badly like that Dredd film just because people aren't familiar with it.

And while the obscurity of this particular source material doesn't help, it's got some decent names in it that should be at least some help.

I watched it solely because of the internet reviews - before that I saw one ad (which was rare, yeah) and it looked like poor Transformers. GotG on the other hand has dozens of millions dollars in budget only for marketing. It has an all-star cast and it's signed with Marvel logo, it will do fine in box office.

I don't know, but I got some really good, fun vibes out of the trailer. I personally didn't care about Guardians until now and now I think it's going to be amazing.
