only good thing that could come out of this is to resurrect doakes, make the spinoff about him, and get the season 1 writers
That's too many good ideas to become a reality.
Tonight's the night, guys. It's almost over.

Thank god, its time for this shit to be finally put out of its misery
anyone have a stream?
Michael looks pretty good with a beard.
Oh my fucking goodness.
[sp]I actually like Hannah now, well liked since it's past tense and there's no more show. I cannot believe Deb died, not that I didn't expect but she was the only sensible character, I loved her. Also Dexter turned into a lumberman hunk, very sexy. Would of rather him died instead of Deb. Pretty good finale. [/sp]

He always has
Wow Breaking Bad tonight was really good. I loved Todd's despicable performance and his [sp]murder of Andrea[/sp] was really heartbreaking. I feel so bad for Jesse. Also that final scene with Walt at the bar was really powerful. I don't even know what I'll do next week when its over.
You may be in the wrong thread.
Hi my name is PollyTheParrot and I'm going to post about a show that isn't Dexter in the Dexter thread and rate anyone who thinks it was an accident disagree.

Calm your tits he's joking. The top thread in the Dexter subreddit last week was all about Breaking Bad.
Well I felt like the finale did a few things right, but did MANY things wrong. I don't think I liked it.
I like Clyde Phillips ending better
[sp]"In the very last scene of the series," Philips explained, "Dexter wakes up. And everybody is going to think, 'Oh, it was a dream.' And then the camera pulls back and back and back and then we realize, 'No, it's not a dream.' Dexter's opening his eyes and he's on the execution table at the Florida Penitentiary. They're just starting to administer the drugs and he looks out through the window to the observation gallery.
"And in the gallery are all the people that Dexter killed—including the Trinity Killer and the Ice Truck Killer (his brother Rudy), LaGuerta who he was responsible killing, Doakes who he's arguably responsible for, Rita, who he's arguably responsible for, Lila. All the big deaths, and also whoever the weekly episodic kills were. They are all there.
"That's what I envisioned for the ending of Dexter. That everything we've seen over the past eight seasons has happened in the several seconds from the time they start Dexter's execution to the time they finish the execution and he dies. Literally, his life flashed before his eyes as he was about to die. I think it would have been a great, epic, very satisfying conclusion."[/sp]

Not gonna lie, I'd have loved for that to have been the finale.
Jesus christ that was the worst thing ever.
Some of the IMDBtards are saying it's 2deep4u. They need to stop giving the writer's any more credit than they deserve.
Remember, this is the same show that forgot Quinn had his suspicions about Dexter in the murder of a former co-worker and he even had his suspicions about him being the Bay Harbor Butcher, bam season 6, nothing ever happened.
This is the same show that had Dexter wheeling a wanted fugitive for the murder of an officer into a dark, secluded room IN AN AIRPORT so he could kill him WHILE a camera was in the same shot. Seriously, season 7 episode 1.
This is the same show that had Dexter inject Deb with a needle in a room where the camera was still on IN RESPONSE to her confessing to the murder of Laguerta, no questions asked. Seriously. We've seen that camera a million times and they pretended it wasn't there. He only turned off the microphone.
It was a bad finale, it had terrible writing for the past couple years. Deal with it and move on.
Well that was worse than I expected.
in no way was anything in that finale "deep"
Well that was worse than I expected.
I had the worst expectations possible (I heard Quinn was going to be the descendant of Dexter) and even I was let down by how terrible it was.

Apparently it shows the inner meaning of how much he cares for his family and all this bullshit. Seriously, go check out the IMDB discussion board. It's funny how people defend a show that was on top and went to complete shit.
these are probably the same people that need to hear dexter's voice inside his head explaining things people with brains can gather without the added help

I hate to sound like a hipster but it really went to shit after Dexter became the "cool hip thing to watch". You know, when 12 year old girls started wearing the t-shirts but it's definitely something to do with the writers and the audience combined. It's funny how many of the writers left after season 4 including the show runner. Correlation is not causation but in this case, I think it certainly is.
There was the audience like me that watched it out of obligation since we've invested so much time watching it so far. Then there was the OTHER audience that thought this schlock was actually good.
I just wonder if the writers for this season legitimately thought they were writing something good or were just shitting on paper to get this shitshow over with
It appears we have a member of that "other audience" I referred to earlier.
I just laughed
it was that or poke my eyeballs with a pen
It appears we have a member of that "other audience" I referred to earlier.
Nah, I hate the show too; I just think you're talking out of your ass v:smile:v
we spent 96 hours of our lives watching this show
What if the whole thing was some meta attempt to actually take our lives
Jesus, this was horrible.
This blows my mind
[sp]
EW: It’s surprising that Miami Metro never realized Dexter’s secret. Everybody expected them to figure things out in the final season.
BUCK: We toyed with that idea, but it felt off-point. The story was ultimately about Dexter’s personal journey. We have one moment in that interrogation room with Quinn and Batista. Watching the tape, Quinn has known all along that there was more there to Dexter. Batista is seeing a hint of the darker Dexter. There was a hint in that moment. But we didn’t want to blow it all up and revel he’s a serial killer.
EW: But a fan gripe was the season had Dexter dispatching new threats like in a typical season rather than a sense of that the show was arcing toward a finale with Dex’s world unraveling.
BUCK: It felt like we had done that with LaGuerta last season and with Lundy in season 2. I felt like it ran the risk of feeling repetitious and familiar.
COLLETON: Going that way felt pedestrian to me. I don’t know how else to put it. Years ago it was discussed and tabled as a very predictable non-interesting way to go.[/sp]
So they wrote the last season not arching toward a finale because it was too repetitious.....WHAT?!
jesus christ what a fucking shit show of a finale
[editline]23rd September 2013[/editline]
its official, the new writers officially missed the entire point of dexter as a series and character
