- uhh... GOELRO is a bad thing? It's not communist simply because it's led by a government. Not saying it free healthcare and civil rights won't exist in a communist society, but just saying if it deals in the state, it is not communist.
Ah...I wasn't saying they were bad things. I actually applaud Lenin for trying. GOELRO was a good idea, but was shot down because the Bolsheviks didn't want to sign a treaty with Germany. It would have greatly helped to form a Russian middle class and further their overall success. As for the Cheka, it was a response to assassination attempts after which, I'm sorry to say, he ordered the slaughter of 5 daughters of the tsars. It totally messed up his appearance and started some revolutionary grumblings. You know what, I'm kind of tired of fighting. Can we just forget this and go our separate ways? No, California is doing a hell of a lot better in the economic downturn thanks to the fact that housing values in our major metropolitan areas have stayed relatively stable, and even in our bad areas it's fallen far less than in most other states because we have a desirable climate and also Hollywood.
