... I just realized that I'm posting in a political debate with a Glenn Beck avatar >_<
For the past years I've been coming to Facepunch I've noticed that at every possible opportunity that when ever someone mentions or utters the word "Republican" the thread instantly decends into a chaotic mess of posts explaining their blind hatered and dislike of the entire party and all it's members.
What I want to explain, that first of all. I am a Republican. Second of all, that the Republican party as a whole isn't that bad. Generally the sterotype is "HOMOHATING CHRISTAN FAGS HATE LIBERTY!1" however, the fact of the matter is that, yes, a small portion of our party is like this. However, the entire party as a whole, is not. The reason the typical sterotype of Republicans is spread is that those people who honestly have their heads up their assholes are the most vocal. Examples are Fox News and Glenn Beck.
Not all Republicans are Christians, not all Republicans hate gays. Not all Republicans are horrible ignorant people.
For example. I'm a Republican. I support Gay Rights, such as marriage and the like, it happens that my Uncle is gay and is also a Republican. Ontop of which, I am in Athiest. I am a Republican because I agree with the core fundimentals that the party was founded on. Namely, the that States should hold most of the power and the National Government hold as little power as possible. Not that we should completely do-away with it, just limit their power to impose on the states.
This is where people normally go ahead and say "Don't flame, no bashing etc." but I know that's not going to happen no matter how polite I try to be about it. So go nuts, I just wanted to throw my opinion out there.
Way to throw the rest of your party under the bus.
You're disavowing some pretty crucial aspects to the Republican party.
But whatever.
Namely, the that States should hold most of the power and the National Government hold as little power as possible. Not that we should completely do-away with it, just limit their power to impose on the states.
except the republican party doesn't really do that anymore (did it ever)
People don't hate the republican party, they hate the conservative politicians of the republican party.
I hate the far right and far left.
I hate the far right and far left.
Blowout soon, Fellow Stalker.
Why can't we all just get along?
Oh wait, the Republican's prevent that.

You sound like a closet liberal.
Blowout soon, Fellow Stalker.
Say "Oh really when".
I hate pretty much all politicians on both sides, but I consider myself a Republican.
Why would anyone want to say they're part of such-and-such party? All you're saying is that you're too stupid to form your own opinions about issues and willing to let corrupted politicians make up your mind for you. The party system needs to be abolished; it hinders democracy and free thinking. The founding fathers never imagined a party system when they created the Constitution.
Their stupidity can be smelled even up here in Sweden.

As can your ignorance :smug:

Washington thought the same thing. So far, advice has proven to be pretty accurate regarding alliances and foreign entanglements.
Republican leader, checking in.
I'm a social liberal but a fiscal conservative.
I would say libertarian but just saying that makes me feel dirty.
facepunch has a blue stance, and a democratic stance, for a British forum, I like the political choices it has with America.
Also most 9/10 republicans in my town and in general are idiots in my opinion, seeing they believe the bullshit they spout.

Maybe we could get along if the democrats did not completely lock us out in debate.
The problem with the world Conservative is that in American culture, the loudest conservatives are exactly the opposite of what Republicanism is.
Politics in America is extremely confused, I mean come on:
A party that both says "No Government Hands On" and "Protect The Sanctity of Marriage"?
Confused shit there.

like every group of people, the vocal ones are the dumbasses and the vocal ones aren't the majority
do you know how many liberals i hear spewing about how obama is god and how we should care about the environment in way that are proven to be useless
Maybe we could get along if the democrats did not completely lock us out in debate.
Don't even start that bullshit, before Obama the Right practically did anything they wanted. They then completely fucked up.
The right should learn from their past mistakes and try again next election.

Honestly, this. They don't want to hear our opinions, alot of them like to sit on highhorses and tell us why we're wrong and nothing else.
Honestly, this. They don't want to hear our opinions, alot of them like to sit on highhorses and tell us why we're wrong and nothing else.
Because you did the exact same thing to them.
Because you did the exact same thing to them.
So because they acted like douches before gives you excuse to be a douche too?
Makes perfect sense.
Eye for and eye makes the whole world blind.
Fucking love that saying.

First of all, get the hell out of my face, I'm pro-free market.
Second of all, yes, that's politics dear.
