Facewound used to have a subforum. There was once a subforum named "General Disruption" and it had a lot of child pornography in it, also, you had to work very hard at it to get banned. This is a event BARELY anyone remembers. But there was an admin for Garrysmod.com once called mm3guy. Before he left, he changed the Facepunch logo to David Hasselhoff and... as far as I remember, he also changed the avatars of the Mods to Hoff aswell.

We used to have a larger gallery of emotes to choose from, all ripped from the SA forums. For some reason (that I can't recall right now) Garry got rid of them and everyone got pissed. We used to have larger avatars, 80x80, until someone argued with Garry on one of the Ask about the Forums thread and in return, all the blues got stuck with smaller avatars, while golds' avatars remained the same size. There was a respected mexican user who used to post on the In The News section (I can't for the life of me remember his nickname), that got banned by TH89 (IIRC) over something pretty stupid. Plenty of people were unhappy with that decision, but he finally chose to leave the forum and never return - or so we think. The mod Hexxeh was interviewed by the NY Times, but they never mailed him the entire newspaper where his article showed up, only the page where the article was printed. So I mailed to him an Argentine newspaper where his article showed up. He could be seen in pictures holding the Argentine newspaper and the NY Times page. We're friends on Steam but we almost never talk or play. :v: Whenever someone mentions reddit, people start spouting off how awful that site is. I don't know where that hatred comes from, but if I had to guess, it's because in here people like to pat each other on the back for being smug and smart, while dismissing other forums/sites based on the assumption that everyone on FP is smarter, when it's not. This whole forum is one big circlejerk, just as much as reddit, with its pros and cons. I have an alt, just one, but I don't remember what the password was. I don't give a damn. Hezzy, back when he was a mod, got perma'd because of an argument with Garry over the Minecraft forums (can't recall the specifics). Plenty of people were not happy about his decision. Now he's unbanned and demodded. Some guy posted a thread where he confessed his love for the female admin Verynicelady, and (IIRC) some pics of her were posted on that thread. Needless to say, he got perma'd, but I'm sure some people still have backups of VNL's pics. Garry and I are both Taurus. :v: I used to post nasty/morbid/feel bad news on the ITN subforum, so that we had different kind of news in the section, but I got bored over time. Half of them weren't really rules, the only one I remember which was "Rule 34: Blindly defend facepunch, even if it's wrong" - I only remember that rule because there was a big thread in GD a few years back that heavily criticized the moderation team in their jobs and they all said sorry for not enforcing the rules and were then pointed out they were breaking that rule :v: I think the "These are Garry's forums, he can ban you for whatever reason he feels" is the only thing left over from that list. I wish I had a copy of it for posterity's sake.

Back in during December in 2009-2011 (I believe those were the years, possibly before, I know he hasn't as of late), Garry would have snowflakes slowly falling from the top of the forum on every page. Unfortunately, because each snowflake was indiviually animated and random, it would make your CPU usage skyrocket (resulting in people comparing CPU usage, turning Facepunch into a benchmark site). The snowflakes were also the size of words so they often made posts hard to read.
