But one thing I know. I know about the politics practiced here in Portugal. Portugal, at this moment, until November (the elections), the Socialist Party is in power. And hopefully, and almost surely, they will be reelected.
Hopefully? .... José Socartes is a fucking faggot. He is just getting Portugal in that hole again like aquele ano a seguir ao 25 de abril. Sorry, I've to put that in portuguese...
Remember children Socialism is a few letters away from Satanism.
Quite a few, actually.
I'm an EU supporter. Plus I'm a socialist based on the primative christian model and some of Plato's ideal society.
I am one of the many people that disagree with the OP.
What am I thinking? A forum consisting mainly of Limeys agreeing with EU? Shame on me.
Why the hell are you sharing our history with these ignorant fucks?
Socialism, represent!
Possible, but knowing America, and living my entire life within it's greedy political system. a "little socialism" could easily explode into a full blown socialist government. [editline]11:39PM[/editline]
Why the hell are you sharing our history with these ignorant fucks?
Of course! use the "ignorance" argument when you have nothing intelligent to say.
GUB MINT GUB MINT Such as? this isn't elaborating source please. the fact that a huge chunk of the population is funding it, and the fact that isn't being run for profit, makes me skeptical. GUB MINT GUB MINT Um, what? Government is there for service, not to save money for itself..? What do you mean by this? That less people don't have accessible health care? In which case, I'm going to ask you to get out
You realize that the government is technically supposed to exist only to protect and ensure the natural, inalieable rights of the citizen, right?
Possible, but knowing America, and living my entire life within it's greedy political system. a "little socialism" could easily explode into a full blown socialist government.
that works for anything a little Laissez-faire exploded into nothing a little fascism exploded into nothing too just because it's socialism, it doesn't mean that it has the power to further itself.
Hell yeah! Let's make a profit and business off of the health and well being of sick and suffering people! Fucking. Disgusting. I won't go into posting the whole story of my sister again, but if she lived in a place with private health care, she would be dead.
Providing medicine, and healing to those who are sick is a service. Services can be sold, and are sold.
You realize that the government is technically supposed to exist only to protect and ensure the natural, inalieable rights of the citizen, right?
That depends who you ask.
Providing medicine, and healing to those who are sick is a service.
Possible, but knowing America, and living my entire life within it's greedy political system. a "little socialism" could easily explode into a full blown socialist government.
No it isn't.
You realize that the government is technically supposed to exist only to protect and ensure the natural, inalieable rights of the citizen, right?
No. I only see it serving business interests and nothing more. Even when it was supposed to protect our rights it failed to do so, in favor of business interests. The only rights it absolutely protects are the rights for the rich to continue being rich. Everyone else is second priority.

I'm not the one calling soldiers with carnations in their guns gay.
Bad government is bad.
Of course! use the "ignorance" argument when you have nothing intelligent to say.
No, he's right, a majority of this forum (and i mean roughly 99.999999%) are commoners. They don't know what they're talking about, I don't care how much they say that they read about it.

Portuguese socialism far better respect what socialism stands for (freedom and such) than Soviet socialism ever did.
Portuguese socialism far better respect what socialism stands for (freedom and such) than Soviet socialism ever did.
As paradoxical as it might seem. The USSR was a totalitarian communist party. One guy who represented the entire workers party. What made it different from an evil dictatorship was that the government wasn't self-oriented to the dictator, but to the people. Education was important and was provided to the furthest, most inhospitable, places. Hell, Uzbekistan, think Afghanistan, has 99.3% literacy. The united states has 99%. <-- According to the CIA world factbook. Also healthcare, yadda yadda yadda. Now for socialism. Remember the Paris Commune? It's Marx. :v:
Welcome to understanding that socialism doesn't mean that everybody is poor and russian right after they are entitled to free healthcare.
Welcome to understanding that socialism doesn't mean that everybody is poor and russian right after they are entitled to free healthcare.
Socialism 101 :eng101:
Portuguese socialism far better respect what socialism stands for (freedom and such) than Soviet socialism ever did.
Exacly. Soviet Socialism was a bad example for the world. [editline]11:04PM[/editline]
Welcome to understanding that socialism doesn't mean that everybody is poor and russian right after they are entitled to free healthcare.
Also, that. A little socialism is not gonna hurt, it will help.
