Oh, I definitely agree with the comparison to rugby though.
People saying American football is more violent really should go check out youtube, rugby has no steroid abuse players, no padding, same tackles, and fucking evil war dances before the games.

I came in thread expecting football.
I was disappointed.
American football has always been a mystery to me. Why are only 3, or is it 4? players allowed to touch the ball, whilst the rest are there just for tackling. seems to make it a very selfish game. I know this is going to be flames but i have always preferred rugby as it is much more sporting and team based. everyone is equal on a rugby field. Its like all american sports i find. the games are biased towards one team. Baseball is a fielders sport, basketball is tall people and American football is for strong people who don't need to be very agile.

Sorry, I completely forgot about the huge amount of English viewers. And as a kind of a comment, I've never understood why "soccer" is so popular everywhere else. The only thing about "soccer" that impresses me is the amount of agility the players use to kick around the ball. And I don't even know how rugby's played :P
