It's like when someone once made a thread about furries, someone said something like 'don't ask here, facepunch has a massive anti-furry bandwagon'. it's called an opinion and many people do agree with that the ipad is an oversized itouch that lacks lots of features that a regular netbook does have. Many people here agree that it costs way too much. Some also agree that holding an ipad is quite annoying and not always comfortable. it's all opinion based and just because many people agree with what I said before, it doesn't mean it's suddenly a bandwagon. that'd be like: "kim yon-il is an asshole" "yeah right bandwagonner"

Just wait for the Google/Verizon version of the iPad which will obviously be much better seeing as the Droid is already better than the iPhone.

You know whats funny some dude actually went blind using the ipod. He went 13 straight hours looking at it and burnt his corneas.

If you must buy one, do not get the 3G version or you will sorely be disappointed. AT&T is drastically changing their wireless plan and the unlimited $30.00 a month option is going to be changed to a $25 2GB a month option. I own one (32GB Wi-Fi), but for reasons I can completely justify. I use it as a portable media device. I love watching movies on the go and the iPad is perfect for it. I would never try to replace a laptop with one but it makes an interesting addition, if you know what to use it for.

If you're going to get one I suggest the 32 gig Wi-Fi + 3G. When I was looking into getting one people said 32 gigs is the way to go because 16 gigs will be used up quickly. The reason to get the 3G is because there might be a time where there is no Wi-Fi and want internet, you will have 3G if you purchased a plan. The 3G model also has GPS support, which a lot of future apps will be using. It's a nice addition to have that GPS. I was going to get one but I decided to put it towards a the iPod Touch 32 gig (because my 8 gig 1st gen has a problem with headphone jack) and a Kodak Slice. Good luck with your choice.

can someone who owns an Ipad explain to me some of the advantageous features over the Iphone? genuinely not trolling here, I just haven't followed the Ipad much and at face value, well it kind of looks like a big Iphone.

I have one in the UK! If you get the 3G, you're asking Steve jobs to personally come to your house and climb up your ass before taking all your money. Just get the WiFi 32gig. It's not useful at all but it's great fun for games. So before posting 'omg it dusn't has an os!!!!!' Think about the fact that it's for fucking around on Pocket God, not designing a rocket ship.

You could always buy a cheap non touch laptop and a 3G usb stick for half the price and far, far, far more functionality.
