[QUOTE=Majjen;28321963]I have somewhat limited knowledge about this but arent you suppose to leave a small gap between the floor and the wall (covered by the skirting boards later)? It's wood right,so you don't want it to expand during hot weather and push against the walls (might cause the whole floor the bend upwards).[/QUOTE] Yes. Else you get waves into your floor after a few weeks.

Looks good to me :D
I wish I had a laminate flooring in my room. It looks awesome and my current carpet has stains all over it.
It's cool you don't just blow money on carpenters to do simple tasks like this. The flooring really does look great, but the room seems a bit cramped.
Yours looks better than mine, no fair
Everyone tells me to just get someone in to do it. But I really love doing these things, and I spend most of my life sitting in a chair looking at a computer - so I need the exercise. The room isn't huge, but it's far from cramped. The bed's a super king size. Well, mattress.. I don't have a bed at the moment. Good job Garry, looks really nice.
Malm! love ikea. good job, looks tiptop!
That's funny, me and my parents decided to do our entire house in laminate flooring about a week ago. Had to pull out the carpet, remove furniture, make the century-old tiles below flat with flattening solids, lay the insulating fabric and then lay the laminate. About three days work
Garry did you follow any guides or reference any websites/material when you did this?
garry I have to say, I didn't expect you to be such a competant DIY guy. I mean, with all the programming and stuff, I don't know why I thought it really. Awesome job though. Looks great. edit: Oh and I see you have a yellow cup like that blue one you broke.
Looks good, shiny.
I want that floor.
Looks good. BTW, you need to fix the img tag, would be the 4th photo of the post. [url]http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1063549-Laying-laminate-flooring-in-my-Bedroom-(Diagonally)?p=28321099&viewfull=1#post28321099[/url]
Do you go to the IKEA by bescot market? If so... fuck this world is small.

Hey garry, how many square feet is your house?
It's nice that you love to do these kind of things yourself, Garry. Really reminds me of my Civilizationship teacher who said that one day he'll just "retire" from teaching just to work as a construction worker. I really respect him for that. By the way, I remember that the cup you drank from for 9 years broke. How long did it take you to get a new one?
My mom and sister found me the new one. I think they got it from ebay. Probably has had someone's testicles in it, but it feels right.
Thats a very nice laminated floor you have there ,it would be a shame if something was to happen to it
So Garry, tell us where you're keeping the trillions you've made from your mod?
I didn't expect this sub-forum to be that great but this was actually a really good thread for this.

It's so comfortable looking, and very pleasing to the eye.
Is that mattress laying on the floor?
Yeah I threw my bed away
[QUOTE=garry;28370642]Yeah I threw my bed away[/QUOTE] why? was it infested with bed bugs ?
