If Jesus Christ walked into a room you wouldn't be atheist anymore.
:suicide:
I would honestly refuse to believe that the actual Jesus Christ walked into the room, I would think a Jesus imposter walking in to be more likely.

Yeah probably.
Unless he started turning water into wine and we all got wasted with Jesus.
In my choir class we often have alot of songs that have to do with religion. I refuse to sing most of these songs. When asked why i replied with "I am an atheist" She kicked me out of class for that remark. Bunch of bullshit really.
Should be if Jesus walks into the room and can prove that he's Jesus
Turning water into wine and then turning each molecule of wine into £100 should suffice.

Hey man, this Jesus guy is cool, he puts drugs in the water and it's like wine man.
Whoa! We can walk on water man!

Um that actually makes sense. You come to a choir and don't sing? Of course you'll be kicked out. And who cares if it's based on a religion. Lots of things are. Practically everything from the Renaissance, one of the single most artistic times in history, is based in Christianity. I suppose the David and the Sistine Chapel are utter shit now.

Made it right
Here in Britain, religion doesn't really play much of a part in our school system. At least not where I live. Our Religious Education classes are pretty damn equal.
Although, back in my Primary School, we had to sing fucking hymns every damn morning. Although it didn't really bother me back then seeing as I was an agnostic until near the very end of Primary school.
Ya
and theoretically if jesus walked into the room you would serve him because that means that he would exist and you would be wrong, sdumbass
Jesus existed =/= Jesus had anything to do with supernatural things
Jesus existed =/= Jesus had anything to do with supernatural things
Jesus definitely existed, there's more evidence of him than Julius Caesar.
[editline]16:20[/editline]
You all misunderstood what I was saying, I don't personally believe he was the son of god or anything supernatural. But there definitely was this person that lots of people talked about.
I think he was a very good doctor or something...the bible (written mostly in medieval times) is just making up shizzle.

Like what?

Well still, the songs were praising something that was against my own belief.
Like what?
Look over the wikipedia article on him; you'll find a whole lot.
Well still, the songs were praising something that was against my own belief.
It's a choir. Most songs written specifically to sound good for a choir are made for church choirs. It's pretty much the only place that ever has a need for a choir.
I have no tolerance for religion.
Your just as bad
Your just as bad
Rated bad spelling.
Well still, the songs were praising something that was against my own belief.
It's a damn song who cares? Just sing it.
Before I moved from San Diego, the teachers there would refuse to talk about religion, unless we were learning it's history in Social Studies.

It's a common mistake.
in the nation i live in (italy) Religion is in school too.
that's fucking wrong. they should teach ethic instead.
ethic makes people grow up, religion makes them act like children
Jesus definitely existed, there's more evidence of him than Julius Caesar.
No, really. This was just retarded.
report them and get their asses fired ok
Here in my city 95% of the population is christian, 2% have no religion, 3% others... (according to wiki)
I feel like i'm the only fucking atheist in this hellhole
At school you're religion is one of the subjects, so you can't pass without it, then you're forced to learn about religions
Also since the church's on the other side of the street, when it's a christian holiday, either you go the church and pass a hour listening to a boring fanatic, or you go the church and pass a entire hour listening to a boring fanatic
:rage::rage::rage:
Sorry if it's bad english
if you need to teach kids about 1 religion, you need to teach them about EVERY major religion. they're equally important and a man who sews the clever bits from each into his life will be known as a healthy clever man.
Gandhi called himself a muslim, a Hindu, a christian and a Jew. his official stance was Hindu. but he always respected wise words and certain spiritual aspects from each of those. a man who can not only understand but also respect different mindsets is a strong, powerful man. people will rally around him and hail him.
so, my stance is, either keep it out of school OR get a teacher that has a broader view of more religions come in and teach them about how One single religion may be the supreme right one for the individual, but that does not mean that the others are wrong or bad. wisdom comes from observance. observance requires patience and understanding. something that is often discouraged in religious groups.
if i were to say that certain satanistic ideas were clever and healthy, i'd be gutted. if i ever admitted to saying that believing in the quran seems the most rational because it is the most up to date branch in the "god" religion i'd be gutted. if i start tripping over yelling and screaming "holy Ghost" i'll be hailed as a religious mastermind. my solution: build up a broader understanding and see what life has in store for me. it may well be i'll end up passing a law making broad teaching of all religions obligatory or banning them from schools totally... i may become Gandhi 2, i do not know. but i wish to be calm about these matters. the only troubles that come from religion is when people start making shit up.
/essay that was only remotely attached to the subject. sorry.
In Canada, we don't care who's religion is what, it just doesn't really matter to us.
I mean, 16% of our population has no religion.
I live in Utah and when I say I'm agnostic but raised Catholic, people just look at me like WTF? I had an art teacher once that would not shut up about how the Mormon church is "the true church".
Also in Utah people refer to the mormon religion as "The Church", as if there is no other religion besides the Mormons.
This is why I believe religion shouldn't be part of the education system. If somebody wants to learn religion they can do it in their own time, not forcing it upon everybody else.
I think I would like to know the background of something as important as religion. I mean, a TON of wars were fought over the religion.
As long as you don't lean towards one side, I believe it's fair game.
well i don't ignore god completely but you atheist are nuts
