I'm yet to hear what the difference between rap and hip-hop is though :downs:
I'm yet to hear what the difference between rap and hip-hop is though :downs:
The term rap is often used synonymously with hip hop, but hip hop denotes the practices of an entire subculture.[1]
So Rap is only the vocal style? Rap is to Hip-Hop what growling is to death metal?
My favourite genre? Music. No shit. I like everything that is heavier than the radio shit and moves me inside. But if you would look what genre most of the music I like would have you would see power/melodic death metal and d&b.
Where is anime soundtracks
Almost forgot, industrial metal is fucking awesome too. [editline]06:09PM[/editline] AUTOMERGE D: Oh and a lot of soundtracks, stuff from Two Steps From Hell
growling is to death metal?
yes.. growling is used a lot in different types of music :v:
yes.. growling is used a lot in different types of music :v:
...so rap isn't a genre of music then [editline]04:13PM[/editline] Oldschool/brutal death metal, groove metal, melodeath [editline]04:13PM[/editline] Nintendocore
Where is anime soundtracks
Uh, soundtracks are usually focused on a certain genre.
So Rap is only the vocal style? Rap is to Hip-Hop what growling is to death metal?
sort of rap is something you do, hip hop is a lifestyle. (someone else said that I can't remember who)
Any metal. Heavy metal, thrash, power (overall fave), death, black, metalcore, whatever, it's all good. Just keep away that fucking deathcore shit, pig squealing and continuous palm mutes does not make you heavy or br00tl in any way. I also fucking love Gackt and Flyleaf because I just do.
Rap, hardstyle, house, Drum and Bass, country, Busted. So what?, I like Busted.
Post-hardcore (Enter Shikari) Metalcore Dont't mind deathcore, Metal Alternative. I can go from red hot chili peppers to bring me the horizon.
terrible thread, ban op for being inconsiderate, ban hip-hop bashers, ban metalheads, lock thread, delete music subforum, close facepunch, cry
Hip-hop and rap are the same thing. White people just call the rap that they like "hip-hop" to make themselves feel better about liking it.
There's a difference between this: and this: I know there seems to be no difference but there is. [editline]11:47PM[/editline] Also "Techno" is just one musical genre, it does not mean electronic music in geteral. [editline]11:49PM[/editline]
would dj shadow be considered hip-hop without rap
His music falls under turntabalism/ dee-jay. So does Cut Chemist.
I used to love AC/DC and Led Zep and Guns 'N' Roses, all that kind of stuff. I kinda grew out of it though, I like most metal, progressive, death, metalcore, deathcore, experimental, a little thrash. I also like the violin and cello, plus classical stuff and softer more mainstream stuff like Flyleaf and Tool. I like so much music, but I'd have to say it's mainly guitar driven :v:
I picked metal, but I also love stuff like post-punk, shoegaze, classic rock...
What's stronger than rock? METAL (well, maybe not always, but you get the point). More specifically, thrash metal, little bit of death metal, and just starting to listen to doom metal.

I picked rock, but I listen to a whole lot of stuff. If it has the basic guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, all with a sound that doesn't make me go deaf while listening to it full blast on a stereo, I'm all for it.
So wait you grew out of AC/DC, into Bring me the Horizon? Lolok.
I grew out of my massive classic rock phase into Nightwish, Kamelot, Opeth, Dream Theater, etc... I still like the classic rock I loved back then, just not as obsessively.
Metal. Mostly black.
French house.
Classic Rock mostly, with a little bit of alternative every now and then.
My favourite band is Folk Rock, overall it seems to be Alt-Rock and Gothic Metal.

[editline]09:19PM[/editline] They're just two different names for the same thing.
So wait you grew out of AC/DC, into Bring me the Horizon? Lolok.
when did I ever say I liked bmth they're fucking terrible get your shit straight before making assumptions
when did I ever say I liked bmth they're fucking terrible get your shit straight before making assumptions
PHEW I was kinda worried there for a second
They're probably one of the worst bands I've ever heard. I don't think in words alone I can describe how bad they are, I hate their vocalist so much, his terrible vocal style and basic fagginess makes me want to ram a chainsaw down my throat
Where the fuck is Dubstep?
