I Mentioned in the Previous Original thread I was planning on trying out a Spin-off of "Create a Planet and Invade others", typically one involving the Infantry-based battles of the Universe, rather than Planet/ship scale battles. [release]The rules are: 1. Compressed JPEG images or low quality images are considered invalid and ignored, Save as .PNG! 2. Use a reliable image host that doesn't compress the image, doesn't change the format, doesn't re size it, and can be seen by everyone. (I recommend Imageshack.us, as long as you select "Do not resize" on the resizing dropdown box before you upload.)DO NOT USE IMGUR OR TINYIMG. If you use imageshack, make sure to disable picture resizing. 3. If an image is 3 second crap It can be voted to be ignored. So take time on it. (Rating Agree for keep it/Disagree for discard it.) 4. Big leaps in technology and Overpowering Weapons/Vehicles are not allowed, No photon Black hole cannons, or looping smart missiles which can navigate around mazes. 5.The Battlefield is intended to be reasonably large in order to allow for a decent amount of armies at once. Please make your soldiers/vehicles a reasonable size. A good a example would be: 6. Declare. Declare is "Getting in line" to post an update on the "universe". If you see a post that says "Declare" but doesn't have an update on the universe image yet, do not post until you see the image in that post or posted later by the same user. Then Post "Declare" and everyone should wait for you to finish before posting another update. 7.Do NOT Declare Stack past 2. Ever. 8. Reasonable like Laser/energy weapons are agreeable. No crazy shit. You should take a number of turns to develop more advanced technology. You should define your army's technological borders and armament style before you create it. 9. Do not create an army, and then leave. Abandoning the thread is considered "Leaving your troops for dead", and they will starve or be killed by the enemy. 10. Do NOT cry and argue if your Army is defeated. You can create a new one afterwards. 11. It is recommended you try to make your soldiers as unique as possible in order to avoid combat confusion. 12. Always post a brief explanation of what happened in your update at the bottom or top of the image. 13. You are allowed to omit details in explanation of your Army to maintain a stealth technique, but be kind and perhaps leave a clue. 14. Any P2P Message sent from army to army can be intercepted/hacked. For Unhackable messages, use Facepunch's integrated PM system. 15. Don't make giant moves in a single turn. That is considered godmoding and if you do it your post will be ignored. 16. If, for any reason, you disagree with any of these rules, let me know your point and I'll consider changing it. 17. There is a limit of 20 Infantry Units on the field at a time, 2 Dedicated transport vehicles, 1 Main battle vehicle (Typically a tank), 2 Armored Personnel Carriers (In place of Dedicated transport). You must choose between Dedicated transport or APC's, or mix the two. APC's can carry 5 Men each. Dedicated transport can carry 10 Men each, but is not capable of mounting weaponry. You start with 5 infantry, and 1 APC or Dedicated transport vehicle. TAKE A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TURNS TO TRANSPORT OR BUILD MORE UNITS/VEHICLES. [/release] Let's get started.
or looping smart missiles which can navigate around mazes.
Hi :v:
Milkdairy, mind declaring first to give us an idea of how big the units should be? Edit: Derp, just saw your example pic, declare. Is this a side perspective? As in: units stand on top very top of the sand?
This IS a side-scroller perspective. So yes, they stand on it. I probably should've started it off first. Oh well. Declare.
This IS a side-scroller perspective. So yes, they stand on it. I probably should've started it off first. Oh well. Declare.
Ehh, I hope you meant declare after me, I already declared. A TPN automated base of operations is fired down. The automated base starts unpacking underground. TPN ground war is primarily focused around guerrilla tactics and/or overwhelming numbers. (The base will be where my troops are made, fyi. Also, i made the underground a bit darker, remove it if you don't want it.)
I had to remove it, since I overlooked your declare, I just edited your declare in (Besides the shadowing, which I am still pondering on whether to keep, due to some issues which may be caused with explosions. The Forces of the Empire of Servos II deploys on the far right. It is unknown if the soldiers are men in power suits, or robots.
Gameplay note: Upon observation of the map, I've decided to extend it. :suicide:
Uh, declare I guess. [editline]18th March 2012[/editline] Fuck it i cba, I suck at mspaint
Eh, Declare. The automated base deploys a storage/power unit and deploys a mining drone. The underground units have special wheels mounted on their sides which themselves excrete a compound to strengthen the tunnel walls. Once a tunnel is completed, it can roll back using these wheels. The mining drone is headed to a nearby ore deposit. (Sorry if I'm doing too much with this base thing, but my plan is that the base will be making units, instead of just sending in units all the time.)
Declare. A few Boxes and Soldiers With Parachutes Appear in the sky. "This is Wailord S-E. We are approaching Destination."
Declare (Removed the base thing, didn't feel like fucking around with it anymore) A squad of 5 elite [REDACTED] has dropped in. Upon detecting the airborne intelligent lifeforms, the leader sends this message to them: [release]WARNING, HUMANS. SERVOS TROOPS DETECTED. WE CAN ASSIST YOU IN RECOVERING ARTIFACTS IF YOU HELP US DESTROY SERVOS.[/release]
Declare [Sorry for similar robots, I had this idea in mind for a while ] A squad of small scouting robots equipped with light guns descend from the sky floating above the ground searching for lifeforms.
The Servos II Armed Forces detachment bumps a transmission out into open radiospace.
"The Empire of Servos 2 has landed on Servos 6 here to keep the artifacts within reasonable boundary. If they are handled improperly, we will all be having a bad day."
The Soldiers pile into the APC, but not before setting up a teleportation relay dish. They Levy Two Units (3 turns), and a Main battle vehicle (6 turns). Two recon drones deploy.
Declare. [release]NO RESPONSE IN PROVIDED TIME. FIRE.[/release] The Narxeminos start firing their plasma weapons. [RELEASE]HUMANOIDS INCINERATED.[/release] They spread out, and start planning a perimeter. The leader is preparing to call in a few orbital drops. [release] Gameplay note: The Narxeminos have advanced orbital drop tech which allow for even entire bases to be deployed in an instant. One of their favorite tactics is to fire down heavy mechs upon the enemy forces. A Crushing surprise attack.[/release]
Declare Some Drones Emerge from the Boxes, And, Open Fire Upon the Units, With Plasma Miniguns and Mounted MG's. (Note: All drones have MG's, But it is Much lesser than the assault bot's Plasma Minigun.) Meanwhile, some of the drones Tunnel Underground. One starts Construction of another Cons' Drone, And the other, A Manufacturing Facility.

A Crushing surprise attack.
To counteract your "Smart missiles looping around mazes" move, Servos VI has an acidic atmosphere which, can and will eat up any material that crosses it, mostly due to its before-desert state which shot into the atmosphere, and partially due to the Nyx artifact's presence on the planet. Due to this, the only way to levy Units is by teleportation. This must be done by setting a static node, and takes time. :suicide: Declare here: The two soldiers port in. The guns have been changed on all soldiers, using a single barreled machine gun, and larger, Explosive (AP + AT) rounds in place of the faster, longer firing gatlings. Recon reports some strange robots, but bypasses them, and continues on. Recon spots two possible enemies in the distance. There are no factions present on this planet marked as an enemy yet.

The way it works is that ONLY the elites can call down orbital drops. They have a special "light" beacon, which can be thrown and allows for quick assistance. This light beacon can only call down soldier mechs(Max 5, probably less most of the time). The light beacon can only be used once a few declares in emergencies. Secondly, theres the "normal" beacon which needs to manually be planted, and takes 1-3 declares or more (depending on what it's requesting). This beacon can call down heavier equipment, and soldiers. I plan for heavy equipment, like a tank (Or perhaps a larger mech), to be requested using a beacon and take a few declares to get sent down. THERE, now can we scrap that stupid acidic atmosphere thing? Edit: Declare. The 2 bots turn around quickly, and some minor damage can be seen on their backs. They fire their plasma throwers, capable of disintegrating anything, whether it is organic or synthetic, in seconds. A drawback of this weapon mode is that even though being more powerful, it does not have a very large range. Meanwhile the Elite deploys an ODB. (To the guy who owns those bots, don't worry, my bots just have good shields, which is why not many shots came through. A second burst will damage them significantly.) (Changed the weapon sprites, now has 2 functions. Plasma thrower (Advanced flame thrower) and the default plasma cannon.)
Haha. 16 posts and already dead. Meh, I'll at least try to keep this alive, just because it has proper rules. Declare. Edit: I was away, and am now currently making an APC, so if anyone wants to declare, go ahead. The Narxeminos stop firing, and say: "WE APOLOGIZE. WE OFFER FULL COMBAT SUPPORT AS A PEACE AGREEMENT." And the APC is dropped down. (Did this in one turn since you're allowed to start with 5 infantry + 1 APC) Everyone enters the APC. The APC'S special ability is that it significantly enhances all weapon damage of infantry inside it, and offers very good protection from energy and kinetic weapons using shields and a strong self-repairing hull. (As always, this can be overloaded like with any shielded/armored machinery.)
