Canadians, Brits, Frenchies, are you happy with your respective healthcare systems?

Canadian healthcare is awesome, so I don't know why you americans are so scared...
The new health care system Obama is proposing is gonna screw us up so much. It will tax the rich and give to the poor. Why should I have to pay for the guy who is on drugs, lives on the street, or is too lazy to get a job. Just because someone did well and worked hard to earn his money means we should give it to the ones who did not? Completely stupid.

Why should I care what you think?
ITT: France, Britain and Canada are the only countries with national healthcare.
"Emergency room patients under national healthcare systems have to wait for HOURS to receive treatment."
"The countries can barely afford the system they run, and are taxing the living hell out of the citizens."
"Doctors that work in these systems are underpayed, and are therefore not motivated to do well in their work."

I have only heard these from Conservative's in America. I haven't actually heard someone from Cananda, Britain, or France say that.
I like mine in Canada.

News flash bro. Not everyone who is poor do drugs or don't work hard. It's quite contrary to what you think. Most people who are rich never really "earned" it themselves, most of them are just born into it. A lot of people are stuck at jobs that can't get you anywhere, some people made mistakes and simply can't progress any further in life cause of decisions they made in the past.
American anti health care arguments are full of bias, lies and made up figures.

I somehow doubt you even pay taxes.
I also somehow doubt you got rich by yourself.
Also I'd like to point out every time I have been to the NHS its been all good experience, my grandmother recently went in for two hip operations in the past few months, shes recovered well and the service was all but smashing, to get a two hip operations in America could come to somewhere around a hundred thousand dollars while here for a small tax sum you can get it for free.
I have seen both sides of the systems, private health care and national health care
Whats the difference? In private health care you get your own room and a TV.
Most respective Facepunchers aren't old enough yet :V They are still valuable to society "Workers" So they receive better treatment then the Elderly. Or get it before the Elderly ;)
Rate be boxs because you know its the truth and the truth hurts :D
I wonder where the belief that socialized healthcare doesn't help old people comes from.
Because it's ignorant as hell.

Are smiley faces supposed to make us angry? I'm sorry to say that you're just talking out of your arse, quite frankly.
I'm serious, I don't think you know what you're talking about, seriously.
Did you even read my experiences above you? All my old folks had excellent national health care treatment, the old are very well looked after. There is no such thing as ageism in health care systems.
Thanks, guys. I've now heard directly from people who have to live in these systems that they are satisfied.
My friends and neighbors are stupid, yes, but they also have the same voting power as me.
People like them are what is keeping Americans from nationalized healthcare.
It should be a goddamn right if you ask me. I've heard stories of people in Memphis, in my own home town, who were denied treatment and left to die because they had no insurance.
Hospitals see them as a financial strain, so they deny them treatment. (not at the ER, I'm talking about surgery for cancer and other diseases).
It's just wrong. And people like my friends and family are keeping people away from the truth: it's not the other systems that are broken; nationalized healthcare works.

The insurance companies pay news agencies like Fox News to purposely say biased shit and lies to support their own agenda.
Anything that is fueled by money is never a good thing.
America: If you can find money to kill people, you can find money to help people.

Have you seen the amount of money they spend lobbying in congress per day?
It's astronomical, something close to $1.5 million a day, all to keep us away from necessary reform.
Health care here is excelent,
the people that bitch about waiting times are the people that stub there toe and want to be treated before a person that has been stabbed.

"fuck you got mine"
I like the health care, if you don't belive me, put it this way i'm not dead yet.

unfortunately.
The NHS is fine. More than fine. I hate it when people over here complain about it - they take it for granted far too much.
I find it sad in the United States, when someone is finally brave and clever enough to bring in a National Health Service of sorts, that he is branded a socialist and the rich brainwash the poor into thinking it's all a bad idea, despite the fact it's the best thing that will ever happen to the poor of America.

The new health care system Obama is proposing is going to help us so much! I won't die now if I get injured just because I cannot get a decent job in the current economic climate, and my grandparents who live off a low level pension won't die because now they can get help when they have a heart attack! I think it's good that everyone who earns more money is using to help others, instead of keeping it all to themselves for no apparent reason.
See what I'm getting at here?
The worst thing about the NHS is poor management, everything else is OK or great.

People can only see themselves paying for others rather than others paying for themselves.

So what doctors think that because a homeless person or drug addict gets admitted to hospital they don't need/deserve medical help when they obviously do. They may need their stomach pumped or to be resuscitated and also they may even get the opportunity to become clean if they wanted to. It's unfair to say who gets medical help and who doesn't judging by the amount of money they have.
They both worked fine for me. when I lived in Canada, the system was fine, and its fine in America. Either way we're not going to fall into another pit of debt through it.
Canada's healthcare is awesome
except for the whole tax part though
if it was completely free, it'd be doubly awesome

I didn't realise I was a drug addict thanks for enlightening me to my own problems that I didn't know about :downs:
