Canadians, Brits, Frenchies, are you happy with your respective healthcare systems?

I can't imagine our healthcare being any other way (UK).
Apparently it's the cause of all our economic problems, but I'd rather have economic problems than die because I couldn't afford insurance.
The new health care system Obama is proposing is gonna screw us up so much. It will tax the rich and give to the poor. Why should I have to pay for the guy who is on drugs, lives on the street, or is too lazy to get a job. Just because someone did well and worked hard to earn his money means we should give it to the ones who did not? Completely stupid.
What if you were one of those poor people who need a serious operation but can't afford it? Then you'll be complaining that you wish you had the NHS so you can could get that surgery you might need.
You people are just greedy because if you think about it you're also paying for yourself to get treated and you friends and family who you probably love and care and wouldn't want anything to happen to them.
I don't mind being taxed to help go towards our NHS especially if I know my mum or my nana or whoever else I care about is going to be treated no matter how rich or poor they may be.
Most of you Americans are greedy fucking bastards who doesn't care about anyone but yourselves.
Love my Canadian health care
Well hey, its working in Canuckistan pretty well. I'm sure we would've realized it was a shitty system way sooner than the Yanks considering we've been actually maintaining it for the last, oh, what was it now, nearly fifty years now?
Then again, those guys know everything! Just like nukes in Iraq, I'm sure there's tragic flaws in our Healthcare system all over the place.
Canada has had its healthcare system for quite some time now, so people must like it or they'd be yelling at the government to change it.
As for wait times, most of that is propaganda from the American right, but there are instances where the wait times here are longer than in the US. (Namely, cosmetic surgery, hip replacements, and a few types of cancer treatment)
That being said, we live longer on average.
'Salright.
Canadian healtcare is verey good, the waiting times are a bit of an issue but since the cost of it is paid for with taxes it is good in the sense that it wont cost you 100k+ if you get sick.

"The countries can barely afford the system they run, and are taxing the living hell out of the citizens."

...Um... Wow... Taxing is part of how to keep the system running, my god... How obtuse can you be?
Even America would tax it, wait let make this clearer... Even a rich country would tax it.
free healthcare in alberta woo
Free health care in Norway, and it works great.
I live in Canada and I like your health care system.
I don't know the wait length on average, but I've never had to wait more then 1 hour
I live in the UK, and I like our health system. I mean, sure it has flaws, and some of the hospitals are awful, but it's free, and you can usually get into emergency relatively quickly if it's required.
It's not bad, but it's not good either.
Let's say it's average.
I am at a loss of words.
yes hi im canadian and i just wanna say that free health care owns
yes hi im canadian and i just wanna say that free health care owns
The wait in Quebec is horrible.
yes hi im british and i just wanna say that free health care owns
and free dental because my teeth are fucking horrific (stereotypes woo)
The wait in Quebec is horrible.
Quebec definitely stands out in Canada for being a shitty province all around. I should know, I live there.
Though $7 a day daycare is pretty awesome.
BTW, Canada does NOT cover dental, AT ALL. Shit sucks.
I think that when the economy is much better, America should institute a hybrid healthcare system. Right now if we nationalize healthcare at all many people will lose their jobs in the healthcare industry, which would basically kick the economy while its down with so many people getting unemployed. And if we do nationalize healthcare at all we should treat it more like welfare reserved for people that can't afford private healthcare.

winrar
I get free medicine so I'm pretty happy with it. :V
That's 'cause your neighbours and friends are Right-wing.
/redundant statement.
Americans really don't know shit about the CANADIAN healthcare system. If you report to the emergency rooms in Canada with a split lip, yeah, you'll be waiting a while. If you've got a shattered bone or a stroke, they'll get you inside right the fuck away.
Doctors get paid VERY well.
As for the taxes, they aren't so bad.
I live in the south and I've heard a lot of anti-healthcare reform statements from my right-winged neighbors and friends.
They claim that the nationalized Canadian, French, and British healthcare systems are crap, and have no hope in hell of ever working.
Some commonly heard comments are:
"Emergency room patients under national healthcare systems have to wait for HOURS to receive treatment."
"The countries can barely afford the system they run, and are taxing the living hell out of the citizens."
"Doctors that work in these systems are underpayed, and are therefore not motivated to do well in their work."

etc...
Basically, they portray nationalized healthcare to be inefficient, weak, and generally hopeless.
So, I want to know how valid these comments are from any Canadian, British, French, or any other citizen of a nation with nationalized healthcare who is willing to share.
Do you feel comfortable with your systems?
a call a french person a frenchie, and your going to get your fucking ass kicked.
Everyone as in the drug addicts who don't do shit? Most people have health care besides Homeless and Drug/Alchohol addicts. Most Homless happen to be drug/alchohol addicts as well. But there are some who really need help.
Also, good for nothing criminal scum get HC as well.
People who actually do something should get Health Care...granted some good people happen to be homeless, but they can be helped.
Congratulations. You're our new "I'll bend over for Bush" posterboy!
I have had a lot of problems with my knees in the past. Whenever it has dislocated and hasn't gone back in, I have gone to the ER and immediately been treated. This was all free.
I also have had corrective surgery on both of my knees. This took place over the span of three years - first year was consulting and being placed on a waiting list. Second year had my left knee operated on. A year was left to see if it had been successful. Third year had my right knee operated on. This didn't cost me anything.
I think the system is brilliant.
Move to America!
I don't even have health care
