God forbid someone enjoy a cartoon about ponies.
God forbid someone enjoy a cartoon about ponies.
This is going to end up being a parallel with gay people on how they can't be happy with people of the same sex. This is going to be how boys can't be happy with watching gay cartoons.
God forbid someone enjoy a cartoon about ponies.
thank god for sanity
I think I figured out why people like this so much. Because it is of marginally higher quality than a lot of recent cartoons, and is based on something old, it brings about the feeling of nostalgia. Because it is primarily targeted towards little girls, it lets the fans easily deny that any criticisms of the show are valid, claiming that they are instead a result of insecurity. This leads to a perfect storm of people who don't realize that what they're watching isn't as good as they think it is. Either that or they're just trolling.
My Little Pony is a damn KIDS SHOW! It disturbs me that grown men are watching it. I don't understand why you people watch it. I mean goddamn I stopped watching Spongebob when I was 7, and that was many years ago.
I enjoy watching cartoons because I have an interest in cartooning and the progression of animation. Not like I'm forcing people to watch cartoons with me.
Just because something is intended for kids does not mean that it is a sign of immaturity to enjoy it as an adult.
I guess you have a point there. It's just that I don't see it as... normal. It's just that you have to "grow up" I don't have a problem if you are watching it for the reasons Pascall stated, I have a problem if you are for the reasons Diet Kane stated.
As do I. But I don't watch cartoons because I enjoy masturbating to ponies and writing fan fiction about said ponies.
No one has said anything even related to what you're talking about. The users of /co/ may be like that, but the few here that watch it most likely aren't that way(just from a quick observation). Like Pascall, I watch cartoons because I like the varying art styles, the process of animation, voice-acting, and as a graphic design student, the way the character/background designers use color and the varying styles to create something unique and (most of the time) pretty damn cool. I don't watch them for the plot(other than Teen Titans and similar shows, but that was years ago), I don't watch them to create twisted fanfics, I don't watch them because I'm obsessed with them. And I'm sure the other people who watch it are the same in this aspect.

And its targeted for kids.
i see no problem in enjoying it [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] How about this: anybody who does not like this show can stop posting in here and can go back to their "noble pursuits" and those of us who enjoy the show can discuss it here and not bother anybody that seem fair does it not?
I recognized that it was drawn by the person who did Powerpuff Girls RIGHT AWAY from the episode where there was a horsie for whatever reason.
I recognized that it was drawn by the person who did Powerpuff Girls RIGHT AWAY from the episode where there was a horsie for whatever reason.
i didn't know until yesterday.
I still watch Spongebob because I have an immature sense of humour.
There hasn't been any humor in Spongebob for years, immature or otherwise. Or do you mean reruns of the first 3 seasons?
Mostly reruns.
There hasn't been any humor in Spongebob for years, immature or otherwise. Or do you mean reruns of the first 3 seasons?
there are still some moments of greatness in the newer episodes, however few there may be.
it's like i'm really on /co/ why are you people watching a 30 minute advertisement aimed at little girls
why do you continue to threadshit because it's a cartoon about ponies that some people use as a masturbatory fantasy you could make that argument for any show/cartoon out there
There hasn't been any humor in Spongebob for years, immature or otherwise. Or do you mean reruns of the first 3 seasons?
I used to think that... but the writing is getting better recently. Also you have to take your nostalgia into account, for thinking the older episodes are what you think they are.
i never tire of the endless amount of screengrabs you can take out of context...
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/zNToN.png[/img_thumb] i never tire of the endless amount of screengrabs you can take out of context...
oh i know it gets my nipples all hard with rainbow fun just thinking about it
oh i know it gets my nipples all hard with rainbow fun just thinking about it
you are the one who took that to a disturbing place, not me... [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] i'm not the one shitting in the thread here, i'm just trying to post things that are related to the topic.
it's like i'm really on /co/ why are you people watching a 30 minute advertisement aimed at little girls
because we're all little girls irl. stop questioning what other people like just because it's slightly different from your narrow-minded norm. If adult males like watching shows, that you're led to believe is made for girls, then let them, it's their business to discuss the topic.
that you're led to believe is made for girls
It is.
