Logic time. So Diamond Tiara threw a "cuteceanera". That's based on a quinceanera, which is a Spanish tradition, a little like a Sweet 16. It's the girl's 15th birthday. The CMC are in Diamond Tiara's class at school, and they seem younger than her, so they're most likely around 14 years old. Now the main ponies are mature, and much bigger than the CMC. They're at least old enough to look after them, but they're still quite young. They no longer go to school, either, so I'd put them in the 18 to 21 age range.
tl;dr: CMC are 14, main characters are 18-21.
