The latter of the two is what I meant, sorry for making it unclear.
TvTropes, despite it's rather magnetic properties, definitely catches a lot that we miss. Remember in the Ticket Master, when Spike got his ticket? He says that he doesn't want "any of that girly, frilly, frou frou nonsense". Then when everyone leaves, he starts giggling to himself like a schoolgirl.
So, a guy who feigns disinterest in feminine stuff, yet gets excited over it when others are out of earshot? Does that sound familiar to you guys?

When alone, I watched the episodes, read the TvTropes pages, read this thread, visited /co/ (which will not be happening again), etc. We all love the show, but we love it in secret, much like Spike wants to go to the Gala, but he's keeping it secret.
