I will post the entries and lock the thread so people can vote but not comment and say things like "I VOTED THIS" which could cause a little bandwagoning.

indeed. Judges (me, DGG, ajacks if he ever gets online) will dig through and decide on what gets voted on. It's basically us saying "why the hell was this submitted" and weeding out spam and low-quality stuff. Given the low-ish number of submissions, I think pretty much everything is getting voted on. My original intention was that we'd sort out things so that 'voting' would be done per section via a post that was rated, so we'd have needed to reduce it to avoid having TOO much being voted across the board, both because of the limited number of ratings, and if only X amount of people vote, things may end up too spread out to get some contrasting numbers. I'm still contemplating whether or not the judges should put in their own two cents on why something fits the theme, though that would detract from the works themselves. There's lots of contrast between submissions, so if it's pretty obvious who the winner is in a category we MIGHT just announce it. I'll discuss with DGG. rating-style voting will be done nomatter what with the final vote where it's decided who gets the major prize, though. 2 hours.

I say leave the announcing until all the voting is done and what not.

cut-off was a half hour ago. I've been working pretty hard tonight so I missed announcing v:v:v lockin' the thread for now. I will post the entries when everything is sorted up and such. Minor update- things are going slow, as I've been working extremely hard these past few days. 1chains1 hasn't responded to any attempts to contact him regarding his offers for the major prizes. We may just have to settle for the minors, but whatever, it was too good to be true as it was. Shipping would probably have been a nightmare for the big stuff. I'll see what else I can offer in the line of prizes, but for now it stands at the mental ray book and Topaz PS Suite from me. If the winners are willing to wait, we can find more donations as time continues. My partner showed me this specific headstone because it was kind of by itself and it wasn't really taken care of. It seemed as though someone had kicked it because it's not straight up and down anymore and I kind of felt sorry for person who was lying underneathe this headstone. There no flowers and only a little terricotta pot that had been knocked over. I didn't use photoshop or anything of the kind. So what you see is what I took at the time of being there. The only thing that took me a while was finding the right angle and the right picture. Had it been in an old shelf in some abandoned building with dust on it, then it would have been old and forgotton. But this was just an old book that was remembered and taken care of.
