DEBATE: Should women be able to join the military? - General

Women in the military, like the Marines or the USAF? IMHO it'd be a bad idea. 1. They wouldn't survive boot camp (I'm talking "Full Metal Jacket" kind of boot camp) [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o7oKQECBjs[/media] 2. They'd make a terrible PoW; They'd squeal way quicker than a man. 3. They're too emotional, they wouldn't have the nerve and stamina to endure a war like a man. 4. The only way to get stronger women is only through Testosterone among other things, but [url=http://www.emysmalldick.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/big-clit-or-a-small-penis.jpg]that'd pretty much turn a woman into a man[/url] and it'd be expensive, so a man is a much better and cheaper choice. IMO I believe they could join the military, but for stuff far away from combat, where you can't see their weaknesses and they can stack up as high as a man.

Men feel less pain due to having less pain receptors, men are more aggresive due to testosterone, men are on average stronger than women. But don't get me wrong, women could still be good soldiers, it's just in general most wouldn't be as good as men. Women have been in the military for a LONG time. They just didn't get to see combat until recently.

With women when you are in an armed force, generally there is a rule there that there is to be no fraternization.

What everyone in this thread fails to realize is that they are applying a purely American sense of social aspects to this question. Any difference beyond simple "less muscle mass" (something which would only make a difference in extreme cases) is completely a social construct.

Should they be able to join the military? Yes. Almost everyone should be given the chance. What I don't like, however is their lowered physical requirement to serve active duty. Women should meet the same standards as men if they want to fight, because they are not only responsible for themselves, they are responsible for the safety of other people. Should one of their comrades be injured, they need to be able to pull the injured into safety.

My mother was a master sergeant in the Air Force, and would have made Chief someday if she did not have me. She was better than most anyone in her field, including the men. You all are a bunch of ignorant, sexist dumbasses who cannot fathom the fact that everyone can do the same stuff regardless of gender or race.

Of course women should be allowed to join the military. Personally as long as they're not infantry or SOF I have no issues, and I don't see why they should be allowed in armor and artillery as they are (or rather, aren't) now.
