DJswitch is now the man to beat :v:

I tried learning how to type properly a long while back...didn't really ever see much of a point in continuing because I had already become scary proficient at typing this way. Though this is my best score, my average is about 80-85, across most websites and has been for a while now.
Bit of an update to my score.
Holy shit man... both runs, and 0 wrong words! [editline]6th March 2016[/editline]
I'm sure you can do better than that! Step it up!
I use a shitty Dell-integrated laptop keyboard. No custom switches, just the crappy standardized office material that tends to break within a year or two of usage. Takes a solid whack to get any good response out of the damn thing any more, honestly.

I get right around 93, but I can get over 100 when typing actual coherent sentences. For me at least, it's easy to type fast when reading through something that makes sense.
holy fuck how do you guys type > 80 wpm
Whatever, man

Getting thereeee
it's alright
awh I thought I was good [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/888382/i%20thought%20i%20was%20good.jpg[/t]
How I learned to type relatively fast: Play team-based games where the only form of communication is the chat box. You are forced to furiously type or risk getting killed if you're not fast enough :v:
Looks like I'm the worse at typing: I always knew I was a moron, he's the evidence.
fuck and I thought I was fast :v: I'm gonna fuck myself up with caffeine and try this again [editline].[/editline] okay a bit better
I'm at work atm so I have to take it a bit easy as to not make too much noise, but I think this is good enough :v:
first try today: [editline]6th March 2016[/editline]
-156 wpm-
DUDE
it's alright
gonna call hacks on this one, so I'm going to need your social security #, your credit card details (and the last three numbers on the back), and your rune armor (so I can trim it)
Fastest I could get. I have no idea how you guys are getting +100, though, that's insane.

I have no idea how you guys are getting +100, though, that's insane.
Using all fingers on the keyboard drastically improves your score compared to people who say use only one hand. Generally, practice in typing speed comes from a myriad of zones that hinder experience if not tended to well enough: Hand-eye-coordination: Being capable enough to read quickly and interpret that to a keyboard is difficult, and it takes a lot of practice to remember where keys are on the keyboard without having to look down. Methodology of typing: It's been realized that the standard homerow method of teaching is one of the better if not the best way to learn how to type fast, and it can be tiresome learning it if you've adjusted yourself to your own way of typing. Determination: It's often that when you make a mistake, you'll often ruin the whole test by pausing to fix it. Pausing at all during the test diminishes your score by a lot. I often get 150 on a good day, but if I catch a mistake and pause, I automatically get dropped to 135 or lower. Basically, train yourself to remember key placement and read into words as separate letters rather than huge challenges for yourself.
i don't do well when my fingers are cold for some reason.

or ineffectively bruteforce your way and create muscle memory for every single english word there is in 10 years of using computers with keyboards and have insane wpm for 1 minute of writing 200 most popular english words i have no idea what i'm doing with my fingers, sometimes I catch myself with moving one hand into another hand's keyboard territory, the thing that kills me the most in this typing test is that space key is considered next word, and when I type i v. often press the space before writing the last character of a word, but I'm so used to that I can also very quickly subconsciously fix that mistake. tbh if you aren't looking at becoming a court reporter, secretary, or some obscure data entry related job, having higher than average wpm makes no sense. Unless you really want to live on the edge as a student and finish your thesis the day before it's due.
