• Intelligence: how it alienates me.

Hey OP. I'm smoking a menthol cigarette right now and it makes my throat and chest feel great, and it's very relaxing. Do you need any more reasons from me as for why smoking isn't stupid and that it's actually enjoyable?
That's..not what I meant. You can be different, but be modest about it. You should be modest about anything, because if you put yourself above others in any way shape or form, people won't like it. Even those who appreciate differences in individuals. I was always about being different back in high school. I wanted to be unique. But now, I just want to be me. And sometimes, yes, I do feel like there are plenty of people out there who are well below me in the "common sense", or "intelligence scale", but I'm not going to say it out loud. I prefer to keep silent and be happy that I'm not that person. I don't feel the need to tell anyone. That opinion is best kept to yourself. It's just.. well.. common sense.
I don't gloat, or brag, or put myself above anyone. Only on the internet, because I am "anonymous." I can tell you how I actually feel, and not have to worry about it.
That doesn't make sense. If you want to find people to discuss gaming with, find other gamers. Go to a local cyber cafe (I'm sure that unless you live in a one horse town, there should be one somewhere) or something to that degree. Or, get a job at a computer/electronics business where your fellow employees know what you're talking about. You have to LOOK for these people. You can't just say "oh these people have no idea what I'm talking about. I guess there's no chance of finding anyone who relates to me". Now, that's just being lazy. Gotta search for the right people to hang out with. It takes effort and if you put forth none, you have no one to blame but yourself.
No, I live in a town with about 100 people in it, the closest town is around 20 miles away. There's no action I can take to change where I am. I can't get a job, because I don't have a car. I don't have a car because I live in the middle of no where. I'm not going to walk 3 hours a day to get to work, and walk 3 hours back.
Why don't you invite people to stay the night at your place and say that there's no drugs/alcohol allowed? I do that a lot. I have tons of clean parties like this and no one complains. As long as there's food, games, and friends, it's all fun. There's always ways to avoid their choices. YOU take the initiative to hang out. If they are truly friends, they'll respect what you want. If you have parties/hang out at your house, they respect your rules. If they don't, you can kick 'em out. This is how I live. My friends are wild, but whenever I have parties, they know that there won't be anything there that shouldn't be. Regardless of that fact, we still have loads of fun. Especially if there is food and sugary drinks involved.
Because this is where we fall back on the "I live in a town with below average intelligence" and the only way they have fun is by drinking/pills.
Not really true. Depends on the girl though. Lots of people are still friends with an ex who didn't really work out.
Yeah, with tons of awkwardness in the air. Once a relationship is formed, it's very hard to go back to the way it was before.
Hey OP. Okay, then move somewhere else. I cannot help you. Just remember, creating threads on FP is not the best way to express your feelings that you are better, anonymous or not. Make a blog or something. Would be more productive.

Like I said, I was just writing most of it because I was bored.
I used to think like OP... then i turned 13
I used to think like OP... then i turned 13
Yes, so many people seem to think like me. Sadly they're wrong.
Meh. Snip of great justice.
This is what I've often wondered myself, it seems if you don't "fall in line," you're out of luck. You'll never click with the majority of people. That doesn't mean you can't be friends with them, they just won't be the friends you can share everything with.
I wish you would not want to ''fall in line'' with everyone else so much that you would stop breathing, as wanting to breathe is just chemical.
You're alienated becuase you're weird.
I wish you would not want to ''fall in line'' with everyone else so much that you would stop breathing, as wanting to breathe is just chemical.
Thanks for sharing. But sadly I can only stop breathing for 2 1/2 minutes before I get light headed, and inevitably pass out and automatically take a breath.
You're alienated becuase you're weird.
Lol, yeah, probably. I only said it alienates me so people would read. If I put "I feel more logical" not as many people would have read it.
Thanks for sharing. But sadly I can only stop breathing for 2 1/2 minutes before I get light headed, and inevitably pass out and automatically take a breath.
I can see how you lost those brain cells now.
Yes, because holding your breath is totally going to make you brain dead. I've never been able to hold my breath until I pass out.
WALL OF TEXT.
I'd be careful, because if you fall from the height you're at on your horse will turn you into jelly instantly. [editline]19:57[/editline] That was the first thing that in my mind, but honestly I agree with you on your first paragraph. The rest makes you seem like a superior being who thinks he's possibly one of the few contributions that the world could possibly offer. Which simply means I think you are incorrect.
Yes, because holding your breath is totally going to make you brain dead. I've never been able to hold my breath until I pass out.
Passing out, not holding your breath.
If it alienates you you aren't that intelligent. Use your knowledge to succumb to social situations and you can call yourself a true intelect.
If it alienates you you aren't that intelligent. I don't like to sugar code anything, either. Anyway, you're a smug, contradicting douche.
I don't think I'm superior in the least. In fact, there's a good chance I will do nothing for this world that will be notable.
You keep saying that you don't consider yourself superior to anyone when it's quite clear that you do.
You keep saying that you don't consider yourself superior to anyone when it's quite clear that you do.
Having confidence in yourself does not make you superior. You must have a lot of confidence issues, if that's how you feel.

Do those sentences yours not sound arrogant to you, honestly? You're basically saying that everytime you interact with someone you have to 'dumb' yourself down so that they can understand and follow you.
I wish I could just be like everyone else. You know, dumb, and a sheep. What an easy life that must be. Being like everyone else.
This is the quote that really gets my idea across because you just sound like such a dick.

Is that better?
I have to dumb down certain things I would typically say around people I do not feel would understand. You assume that if you speak at your normal level then this person wouldn't be capable of understanding it. You're basically thinking of this person as of a lower status than yourself.
You're either being really humble, or have you really never been around people that make your mouth drop because they say incredibly stupid stuff on an hourly basis?
I've heard people say incredibly stupid things sure. The difference is that I don't approach your average person expecting them to say incredibly stupid things. [editline]20:47[/editline] Well I'm out for now.

dear god as soon as I saw the thread title I knew the OP would be a smug prick. You're nothing but a pseudo-intellectual teenager who thinks he's so much more intelligent than the people around him. Can't wait til you get into college and realize that shit doesn't fly anymore, and you wasted your easy years alienating yourself with your "intellectual superiority". But wait, you probably won't get into college. You're not "20+20=40 smart'. Good luck getting a degree in common sense, dumb-ass.
I don't talk down to anyone either. I treat everyone the same
Oh my, the backpedaling is getting more and more hilarious as the thread goes on. May I remind you...
I hold my tongue around people because I don't feel as though they're mature enough to understand
Post #344, despite having a lot of spelling errors, shows more intelligence than all your messages combined. Also, I think this might sum up your contradiction in a straightforward manner (since we're idiots, we need that, eh!)
Yes, so I've heard. Lots of people like me. The only difference is that they're actually self-centered, and let everyone know it.

let everyone know it.
Bloodshed16, could you remind me who made this thread?
op is a roight tosser
Oh my, the backpedaling is getting more and more hilarious as the thread goes on. May I remind you...
*giggle*
Post #344, despite having a lot of spelling errors, shows more intelligence than all your messages combined. Also, I think this might sum up your contradiction in a straightforward manner (since we're idiots, we need that, eh!)
I never said you guys were idiots. I said most people lack common sense. Most people in this thread are probably more intelligent than me. Also, oh noes, spelling errors. Would you rather me use text speak, or 1337 sp34k?
Bloodshed16, could you remind me who made this thread?
I made this thread, what's your point? I'm anonymous on the internet, why would I care if you knew how I feel? You consider yourself, and a couple people on the internet, everyone? Hah. Good try, mang.
Also, oh noes, spelling errors. Would you rather me use text speak, or 1337 sp34k?
Did you even read my post? I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about someone who replied to you, and made much more sense even though he wasn't spelling most of his words correctly (and could therefore be classified as "dumb" by most people at first sight).
I made this thread, what's your point?
Read your previous posts again:
Yes, so I've heard. Lots of people like me. The only difference is that they're actually self-centered, and let everyone know it.

let everyone know it.
I'll have to put it in bold red text since you can't notice it: you are exactly like the people you feel superior to.
