I feel as if today's youth are completely reliant on the media and the "rules" that society makes to be somewhere considered normal. Most people near my age (18) that I come across seem to be stubborn, single-minded walking stereotypes of what it's like to be an American teenager, They all wear the same things depending on their pathetic plastic cliques. The word I'm using, "they", is what I use to call the generalized population of our youth. They is what I would call you if we ever cross paths. We are losing our instincts of what it's like to be human, We are following everyone else's misguided paths because we expect people will respect us more for not being different. The unfortunate thing is that anyone remotely close to being different will be shunned and forgotten by everyone else. If you're a nerd, black, gay, crippled, goth, fat, short, tall, or pretty much everything that's different from the others you hang around, then you will inevitably be considered: faggot, retarded, wierd, nigger, or some other derogatory insult related to the majorities selfish minds.
Within the past 100 years, we have changed both physically and mentally more than we have within the previous 5000 years of recorded history. Our technologies and large media companies will keep selling you your culture until you eventually rot in the ground as a forgotten piece of carbon-based molecules.
Everyone I view around me seems oblivious to the world around them, they seem oblivious that there's people on the other side of the world with similar goals, they seem oblivious that there's other cultures, they seem oblivious to how insanely large our universe is. We, as humans, don't have common sense. You guys will fight against OP or you can fight against me, but you will always remain one of them, one of the other billions of pointless whiffs living on this tiny blue pixel we call home.
You are nothing more than an accidental pinprick of atoms. Everyone you ever known is just the offspring of an accident spanning billions of years ago. Life has no meaning, because life as we know it was originally a coincidence.

Maybe if you got off your moral superiority high horse you could actually interact with the "plastic youth" and see that many of them know the same things but still have fun. You dwell on your transience. Other people accept it and move on or just reject it, and they have fun. Do that.

Coincidence does not make it meaningless. All the generalizations you made to support your point fail to do so, because they are only generalizations and therefore not accurate. When you start a paragraph with "I feel..." you can't end it with a bold statement like "the other billions of pointless whiffs..." or "I'm trying to brighten and expand your minds..." because they do not mean anything. You are basing everything on assumptions, assumptions based on your personal beliefs. You seem to want the society and the culture of today to be something you can look down upon because you do not fit into it in anyway. With this attitude you never will, and you know what, being "/wrists or whatever" would be the win-win situation here. In the end we would be spared of your so-called "blatant truths".
Long story short you are an idiot trying to get back at the world for not accepting your beautiful soul and mind.

But then we will never go to space if everyone's too dumb to do it and I will never accomplish my dream of being cradled in the arms of a nine feet tall blue alien cat woman as she stares into my eyes after killing a crazy 60 year old military guy.

"You are better than no one, yet infinitely superior to everyone."
Yea, I spent a year doing an online charter school, and there was a huge gap when I went back into real, public school. It's like everyone does stuff, and it's all for absolutely no reason. They'll do stuff and not know why, or have and excuse, or even probably remember it after five minutes. It's wierd.
Another circumstance, too, worried me in those days: that there was no one like me and I was unlike anyone else. "I am alone and they are everyone," I thought – and pondered.
I laughed when I read the home schooling part.
"Awwww, who's my adorable little genius? I always knew you were smarter than those other kids!"

You're a smart one.
Rate agrees if you tl;dr
So Facepunch, ready to read about how conceited I am (or maybe I'm just right)? I'm sure many of you will agree with me though.
/blogpunch (maybe)
All my life I've felt as though I'm different than most other people. As I don't care about impressions, or fitting in. I'm not materialistic. But recently in my life, it's really hit me how different people are... If you don't smoke, you're a good kid.. Is that a bad thing? Nah. But it's annoying. Why can't it just mean I'm smart? That I don't enjoy dying from lung cancer, or being able to hold my breath for 10 seconds.
The same applies to drinking, or taking pills. Do I drink? Eh, not really. I think it tastes bad generally, and I don't need to be drunk to fit in. I've talked to so many people that say they drink because their friends do.. Is this really how stupid people are? They claim it's not fun, they just do it because their friends are.
I fit in with people fine, but they always wonder why I don't smoke, or drink much and pressure me about it. It doesn't bother me very much, but like I said, it's annoying being called a good kid. I mean, I will smoke weed, it doesn't negatively effect you like smoking cigarettes and drinking.
Why does being smart make you different? How did people get like this? Why are people so stupid? How do people figure smoking makes them cool?
Don't get me wrong, hanging out with people is fun. And I do stupid stuff (I'm not a buzzkill), just not stupid stuff that gives me lung cancer. I feel as though people are too concerned with fitting in to have common sense.
But on the inside, I feel like I'm too smart (common sense wise, not 20+20=40 kind of way) to fit in with people. I feel like I shouldn't have to dumb myself down just so people don't call me a nerd. It's sorta annoying. I don't change myself, but certain words I would normally say, I hold my tongue around people because I don't feel as though they're mature enough to understand.
I'm a very straight forward person, as-in I don't sugar code stuff. I prefer blunt people, if you have something to say, just do it (that doesn't mean be heartless, but don't sugar code everything).
Now, onto emotions (yay!). People are controlled by emotions, they act on then. If they're mad, they act on it and regret it later. Why do people have such a hard time controlling their emotions? It's so easy. Just use your brain.
People act on love, so, what is love (baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more)? A chemical in the brain. So why do people have such a hard time controlling their brain? Well, because people don't know how to be mature mostly. Love isn't exactly real, it's just a chemical. I've been in a couple relationships, and I've never really felt heartbroken. I mean, it sucks going back to your old lifestyle before meeting them.. But people also get emo and depressed (I will bash depression later, because that's the kind of awesome guy I am). I've never been able to understand "fairytale love" and how people believe in it. Sleep is a chemical, but we don't believe in a magical fairy that puts us to sleep.
Loving your family is different, you grew up with them, they raised you, and took care of you, assuming you had a good family (doubtful, sucker). Love for your family should be unconditional. But for a person you met, love doesn't exist.
I feel like relationships take incredibly mature people, not people who let emotions control them. I hate when my girlfriend tells me she loves me. I can't stand it. Like all chemicals, the effect will go away. Don't waste your life thinking it will last forever. You have to force yourself to be committed, and if you're not mature enough to put up with it, don't expect it to last.
Sometimes it sucks being like this.. I've always said I was different (and compared to MOST people, I am different). Sometimes (aka never, just feel like saying it because I can) I wish I could just be like everyone else. You know, dumb, and a sheep. What an easy life that must be. Being like everyone else.
I don't change myself to fit in, I am myself. People like me because I don't care what people think. I call stupid people out. I'm random, and pretty hyper (not the annoying type of hyper). Somehow I fit in with everyone, by trying to fit in with no one. It's odd how that works out.
I used to fight in school a lot, until I started home schooling (because I got into too much trouble for fighting too much). That's when I changed into the person I am now (a change for the better, regardless of what you think). I changed into a person who doesn't need to be you, to hang out with you.
And now, to add the conceited icing to the conceited cake... I think if everyone had my mentality, my mindset, (not be me, but think more like me) the world would be a better place.
To clarify, I'm not self-centered. I'm probably one of the nicest people you will ever (assuming you met me) meet. But I'm very straight forward with people.
I'm 18, I'm a Prep, maybe that's why I'm "conceited." In the end, I think I'm right though, I think people are just stupid. Or maybe I just matured too fast, and now it's me who screwed up. Or maybe I just think I'm too mature (hah). Who knows.
I really want to know how many people agree with me though, and feel the same as me. Because I know I'm not alone.
If you truly do believe that smoking weed has no negative effects on you, then no, your are not intelligent.

I read home-schooling and stopped there. You're obviously not intelligent enough to handle even basic social functions. I was often set apart from the rest of my school because of my computer-geekness, but as I progressed through the school I became POPULAR for that trait, because people with broken computers and stuff enlisted my help. By the end of my school days, everyone was cool with me. I don't drink, smoke, or take drugs, but that doesn't make me any better or worse than my peers - to gain respect, don't be an aloof asshole.
There have been times where I've acted differently to fit in.

[sp]No I am not /wrist or whatever. I'm trying to brighten and expand your minds with the blatant truth.[/sp]
While I wasn't going to post anymore, this post caught my attention. I agree with it completely. It's funny how everyone disagrees with you, despite the fact that it's true. Everyone has to be "normal" to fit in. Including me. People seem to assume because we realize that, that we must act different and awkward around people. No, it's not that way for me. Just because I realize it, doesn't mean I act on it. It just gives me something to think about, and discuss.
It's funny, because while I agree, some of the stuff I said (mostly the stuff that got interpreted as "I'm better than you") was kinda stupid. You guys completely misinterpret everything I say. Even this post will get turned against me somehow. I consider intelligence the ability to be rational, self-aware, and use commonsense. Just because you know how to build rockets, does not make you an intelligent person. Just because you have flawless grammar, does not make you an intelligent person.
To be honest though, I'm not sure why I bother explaining anything. It all comes out "I'm better than you." Maybe it's just the thinking outside of the box stuff that makes people naturally despise me.
Until next time, Facepunch.
