On the contrary!
To automatically assume so must require quite extensive experience about other people's stupidity. Such experience is only gained alongside with the literal definition of maturity. Is it not general consensus that old people get bitter and sarcastic, and think young people know nothing?
Yes, but generalizing an entire population because of a group of idiots is not the smart thing to do. If one was truly as intelligent as they so claim, they would be able to seek out those of their own intelligence and be able to see that not everyone is as stupid as you think they are.
Just as not all old people are bitter and sarcastic, not all young people are stupid and foolish. Stereotyping and generalizing are incredibly stupid things to do.
OP, there are people out there who enjoy material things that are still intelligent. Lifestyle is not something you should base intelligence on. Common sense, yes. But just because someone has less common sense than you does not mean that they cannot provide a good friendship or intelligent conversation.
Any truly intelligent person assumes those who surround him are capable of an equal intellect.
Only the conceited alienate themselves in a facade of superiority.
That was pretty.
Ooh doesn't this sound familiar, someone thinks they're more mature than someone else
No, I merely expressed my opinion, which is "the OP is dumb"
He doesn't specialise in actually being smart.
IQ doesn't measure actual intelligence. You're not very bright if you think they do. If you must know, it's 124. I'm dumb, oh well, get over it.

I suppose so. Maybe I just know really stupid people, and that's why it annoys me so much. Don't get me wrong, I like my friends, I just don't "click" with them like I do people that are actually like me. As-in, I have to say jokes that they would understand, not how I would generally say it.

Ah, yeah, that reminds me of some chavs I know around there; one of the national TV channels made "THE BIG BRAIN IQ QUIZ" and it was obviously really dumbed down, they all believed they had IQs of over 120.
I.Q.s only express your potential, though... I may have one of 145 but I still consider myself pretty stupid; what really seems to be more of a determining factor these days is the emotional skills (or capabilities) of someone... such as the OP

Vastly in creased brain activity, causes you to focus better and think more clearly, relaxes you, and gives you a mild "high."
I prefer it to weed to be honest. Health affects aren't a major concern since everyone in my family going back multiple generations has been a chain smoker into their 80s with no negative health affects.

Become a robot, have no emotions, enjoy your life.
I say filtering is a valid way to do so. They're going to gather a lot of shit, but hopefully will let something through.
Filtering requires giving everyone a chance. Stating that "everyone is dumber than me" is not giving everyone a chance.

Unless that is the filter, a plea for all to prove him wrong or fail and get caught in the sludge
Please tell me some benefits to smoking a cigarette, because from what I've heard, dying isn't exactly a good thing (unless you hate life or something).
There are obvious social benefits, you'll fit in with a certain group, you can have something to talk about with other smokers, it's an excuse to mingle, etc. Physical benefits include relaxation, helping to cope with stress, allowing for better focus, and keeping weight down.
Now, I don't smoke because I see the negative side effects as outweighing the benefits, but it would be foolish to say that there are no benefits to smoking. Why would someone do it if there were no good outcomes?
Hmm, yeah, I suppose. It's really about fitting in, because I do fit in. But it's more so the fact that not smoking/drinking/taking pills/having sex constantly that makes it annoying.
I have more common sense than a lot of people. I'm not aware of any bonus that could out weigh Lung Cancer.
Like I said before, it's a judgment call. It depends on the values you hold in high regard. If a long life is something you value, then maybe smoking isn't the best idea. If short term satisfaction is what you desire, smoking is a decent way to accomplish that.
No, I don't really say big words, ever. Mostly computer related stuff. Because people always get surprised when I they realize I know how to use a computer well, and are like, "you're a nerd???" But they say it like it's a bad thing. I guess it's more of a personal "wth" kind of thing.
Yes, it doesn't seem to pertain to the rest of your argument that well then.
This is most likely true, I have never been in love. But I've always felt that emotions are overrated, and are easy to control.
Obviously some people are better at controlling their emotions than others, but I would imagine that that has little to do with intelligence.
But what is the bonus of having something like a relationship, that family or friends don't offer?
There are different kinds of love. The love I have for my best friend is not the same kind of love I feel for my girlfriend. It would take me a long time to try and explain it to someone who seems to deny that difference completely, so I won't try. All I can say is that maybe one day you'll understand.
No, I'm different because I don't care about materials like most people do.
Look, all I'm saying here is that you're different in different ways like other people around you are different in different ways. To assume that they are all "sheep" is to overlook a great resource. I'm not saying that every person is a deep well of knowledge, but you should try giving people a chance more often.
Fair enough, you make valid points. I'm 18, as it said in the OP(which does confuse me, as you fine combed my whole post, not sure how you missed it).
I guess I forgot. Or I couldn't believe it.
I share a lot of that mindset with you, but I don't ponder the "why?" about these things anymore. I used to, but I eventually figured out it's human nature. I balance my actions with equal instinct, emotion, and logic, so I don't "lose touch" with any of those aspects of me.
And love is very strong for me, as I have very powerful emotions deep under my layers of logic and reasoning. I'm very connected with everything emotionally, but I don't let that contaminate my thinking.
I still don't understand why OP thinks he can judge a relationship's basis when he can't even see the benefits of one.
op doesnt sugar code things.

Grow up a bit. Judging from your post you seem pretentious, although you probably didn't mean it like that.
Good to know, make them post here so I don't feel like a 1vs50 battle. And no, I'm a very nice person. I'm not allowed to describe myself without being conceited?
Basically, you convinced yourself you're smarter than you really are. I'm not saying you're stupid, I'm just saying you aren't this intelligent, superior person that you suggest you are. You use the "common sense intelligence" argument because your academic results are not where you'd like them to be. You turned yourself into a cold, unfeeling person and tell us that it makes you better even though you love, hurt, and fear just like every other person. You act on these impulses just like everyone else and even if you won't admit it, you're an average person. You're a dime a dozen. Again, you are not an idiot but you're far from unique and superior. You have a lot to learn, and you don't need me to tell you all of this. Over time you'll learn this all on your own and you'll become a better person from it.
This is the stupidest thread I've ever read in my life. I want the op to film himself dying so I can watch him die.
Intelligence is one of the greatest dividers of people.
You could put two people with completely different views in the same room but if they are of a similar level of intelligence they will probably get along.
I bet you that nobody here could ever like a person if they said something like.
"My Mac netbook is better than your PC. Mine cost £2000 while yours cost £700 therefore it must be better! Plus it looks cooler than yours."
"My Mac netbook is better than your PC. Mine cost £2000 while yours cost £700 therefore it must be better! Plus it looks cooler than yours."
"Better" is a matter of taste. If having something that is expensive and cool looking is what makes something "good" for someone, then so be it. Of course, I would disagree, but this isn't the best example to illustrate a lack of intelligence.

I'm not superior. I'm unique. There's a difference. And no, emotions make me think uh-oh sometimes, but it's easily put out of my mind (aka controlled).
I'm average to the people like me, and that is why we're better friends than people that aren't like me. Like I said, I'm not the only person like me.

There's 2 kinds of cool.
1.) Practicality
2.) Personal value
Both are valid but you can never argue the second kind of cool.
It's easy to place someone above yourself on the Grand Scale of Intelligence. It's fine and respectful.
It's also easy to place someone below yourself on the same scale. As long he's sufficiently low on everyone's chart, nobody will mind.
But God forbid if you place yourself above too many people, you'll go down in flames.
