I still want to hear your topic on depression, you never got around to it.
most people arent robots
thats why they are people
I love all the threads made by people who think they are unique little snowflakes, half the time they are trying too hard :3c
this talk of removing emotions creeps me out
teens
The answer is simple, because people are and always will be idiots, young lad.
If you hope the world will ever change, you are wrong, they are born, spread their stupid like a weed in the garden of mankind, die, and live on in all their children who also are dumb and reporduce.
this talk of removing emotions creeps me out
I wouldn't mind it, main reason why is I'd prefer nothing to distort what I perceive. But that's just how I look at it, you could easily find a person who'd say the exact opposite, and there is no right or wrong answer.
Guys, OP is unique, just in the worst possible way.
If you can't control your emotions, you're mentally weak.
Fuck all that biology shit it's because you're stupid.
Your stupid. You talk like your smart but your stupid.
Smartness isn't alienating, but being stereotypically smart is. If you're the kind of person who talks about World of Warcraft and the new Intel processors and quantum mechanics while fiddling with your pocket protector, yeah. You'll be alienated.
If someone were to look at me, they'd probably see some dumbass metalhead that smokes weed and drinks every weekend and who moved back in with their parents after losing their job, not someone who builds PCs for spending money, plays video games, and scored a 96 in calculus. Yet I am also all of those latter things.
My point? Don't base your entire identity around being smart. It makes you seem smug and unlikable.
this talk of removing emotions creeps me out
You should have a chat with some of the tranquil mages in Dragon Age, they tend to make it seem very pleasant, and logically explain why it is so.
But they're also video game characters, so their logic might not be all too credible.
Your stupid. You talk like your smart but your stupid.
Lol'd, hard.
Anyways, how's this thread still going? My ego trip must be really interesting.
But on the inside, I feel like I'm too smart (common sense wise, not 20+20=40 kind of way) to fit in with people. I feel like I shouldn't have to dumb myself down just so people don't call me a nerd. It's sorta annoying. I don't change myself, but certain words I would normally say, I hold my tongue around people because I don't feel as though they're mature enough to understand.
This just makes you sound like an asshole though. You need some new friends. If you can't find a group of people that you can be yourself around, that's your problem, not everyone else's.
People act on love, so, what is love (baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more)? A chemical in the brain. So why do people have such a hard time controlling their brain? Well, because people don't know how to be mature mostly. Love isn't exactly real, it's just a chemical. I've been in a couple relationships, and I've never really felt heartbroken. I mean, it sucks going back to your old lifestyle before meeting them.. But people also get emo and depressed (I will bash depression later, because that's the kind of awesome guy I am). I've never been able to understand "fairytale love" and how people believe in it. Sleep is a chemical, but we don't believe in a magical fairy that puts us to sleep.
If by fairy tale love you mean "soul mates," "true love," stuff like that...yeah, okay, but you're missing some very real aspects of it. If you were really mature you would know that because love is entirely inside you, it's exactly what you make of it. There's a kind of happiness that you can only get from someone loving you back, but in order for that to happen you have to allow yourself to fall in love and lose control a little bit. Call it a calculated risk if you want to.
So, if you've never felt really bad about losing someone, you were already over them or you didn't love them.

No. You suck.
The smug in this thread is unbelievable.
Yeah, probably. But like I've said several times already, there really is no point for relationships. I can share my feelings with my family, or friends. I don't need to have sex either, so what's the problem? Maybe people are so desperate they put up with "love" just to get some.
No. You suck.
That's nice. Thanks for sharing.
OP. you see, I graduated high school at 16. (would have been 15 if I knew one simple formula to help me with 2 problems :argh:) I dont drink, or smoke. I dont anger easy, or get sad. I try my best to control all of my emotions. (rather successfully) I know the people you detest. My sister and her friends are those people. "Im so cool because I smoke! HURR HURR LOOK! HES PASSED OUT DRUNK IN HIS OWN VOMIT AT THE PARTY LOLOLOL!!" True love is more than a chemical response. (although most people wont get to experience it)
However I dont think Im a better person because of my choices.
I let people live how they want to live. I let them make their own mistakes.
You need to borrow from the Buddhist, and Christian beliefs. Be kind. Hate no one. Everyone is equal.

Oh god you're so immature
I'm pretty much asexual but I would still like to be in love with someone.
Love isn't exactly real
You've never been in love.
I always tell myself to think more, but I can never get around to doing that.
OP's post
Holy shit, you're exactly like me.
I know a friend who pretends to be a girl in WoW, and he's managed to get some random to help him level up from level 20 to more or less the level cap.
I was mindblown when he told me this, my first thought was "Are people seriously this stupid?"
EDIT: Your opinion on love is fucking stupid though. Like what Raxas said, "You've never been in love."
Yeah, probably. But like I've said several times already, there really is no point for relationships.
That could very well be possible for you.
Any truly intelligent person assumes those who surround him are capable of an equal intellect.

That was beautiful.
:whoptc:
This is why I love facepunch, I don't see a lot of highly intelligent people very often :allears:
If you're gonna be egotistical, at least know what you're talking about in the first place. I agree with some of what you said, but a good amount of it is pretty contradictory and inaccurate.

No
People who are told to "be themselves" and resist peer pressure tend to be less well-adjusted then those to tend to go with the flow.
You see, it's science!
Also, love is completely chemically created in our brains, get over it. I don't get how people can be so smart yet so abnormally socially retarded.
As a side note, if you dispute that love is a creation of our brains then you must be stupid, because love is an evolutionary trait created so that the father and mother of a child would stay together to protect and raise the child until it could live on its own with no issues. Thus, love is a primal deal as a result of our increased time to develop to adults.
My foot wants to go so far up your ass OP....
But you will move on in life, hopefully.
The OP and his avatar are very ironic.
