I tried doing lucid dreaming a while ago, but could never be bothered to do a dream log.
There's hardly a moment when you're not dreaming during sleep. Carrying your subconscious mind's short-term memory over when you awake is the difficult task that creates the illusion of dreamless nights.
I dreamt i was stacking three blocks on top of each other and then a baby would knock it down each time i rebuilt it. That was pretty much the whole eight hours of one night i slept.
I never dream. The next morning, I never recall dreaming about anything. Is it just me who does not seem the dream? I only recall at least 3 dreams my entire life, and from what I hear, dreaming is really nice. I really want to be able to dream more.
My question: Are there any methods to help me dream? Or at least remember what I was dreaming of the next day? I really want to be able to dream and remember them the next day. It will probably make me feel really nice inside and I get a little more adventure while i'm sleeping.
(Also, falling off a cliff to land on your bed doesn't count...i've had that that a lot and don't recall why I jumped off a cliff in the first place.)
You can take Melatonin to make your dreams more vivid and lucid.
Melatonin is naturally produced by your body in the time that you would normally go to sleep, and wears off the longer you stay up.
If you tend to go to bed very late or even so late that it's light out, you might not even dream at all.
If you really want to dream, take Melatonin supplements and go to bed early (Anytime after sundown and before midnight)
I only remember my dreams when I wake up then go back to bed. I never remember them if I just go to sleep, and then wake up and get going. Therefore I only remember my dreams on weekends/holidays.
The only reason I have any interest in drawing is to draw my dreams. My dreams are so surreal that the only way I could describe them is through drawing.
"A small armour plated blue cat like creature attempts to kill a man with an explosive tumor fails and dies due to the fact that the man is somehow a spiritual moose creature and sucks the life out of the cat, then erases him from history." doesn't write too well on paper.

That's because when you sleep your brain has the same sensation that it does when your body is falling. It's normal to jerk and move around in your sleep, you just occasionally wake up from it. Don't sleep on your stomach or back either.

You only experience about 4-6 minutes of dream each night.

Whenever I'm just about to fall asleep but I'm not tired, a gunshot goes off in my head and I wake up in a sweat. White flash, sound, and all.

well fuck me sideways
It's been happening to me recently too, usually a loud bang noise keeps me awake right before I drift off.
It usually keeps ringing in my ears, annoying as hell. It's like that falling through your bed sensation but 10 times worse.
Sometimes your brain makes you dream that you tripped or fell or something and then you wake up in bed and bounce.
I only remember dreams when they are horrible nightmares.
You just have bad memory bro, You dream.
After reading this thread, i rememberd a dream i had recently, i was playing in a level of Geist (multiplayer, the one with the helipad if any of you knw it) using my fav technique, camp out in the top floor of the red building as the mine layer, one thing lead to another and i was crawling around in the walls disabling some power core or something. finished with that, went to the ground, whipped out my light sabre that'd just appeared, cut some girls legs of in segments, then realised i should take this opportunity to fuck her. The helicopter all us goodies were on was leaving, but just then i woke up and realised i was humping my bed with a massive boner, and no longer felt like i was fucking her, i was sad for a few moments, then i fell back to sleep. I'm odd.

That happens to me all the time, but before i'm properly asleep, just near sleep, thinking about things, they become really vivid and BAM i jump in my bed cos i've tripped, scary as fuck.
A couple of years back, I hardly ever had any dreams, if I did, they were nightmares.
I do remember a few strange dreams I've had in '09...
So, what, you go to sleep and just instantly (to you) wake up?
So, what, you go to sleep and just instantly (to you) wake up?
I do.

Sometimes, I think.
How old are you? If you're like 8 or 10 years old you probably don't have dreams are often.
Or maybe that's just my experience.
That happened to me once or twice and it felt awesome.
I guess it wouldn't be nice if it replaced dreams entirely, however.

It's more likely than you think.

I've had that before. I started a thread after I had it one night. For me, it sounds like whispers, people talking really quietly. Sometimes it sounds like it's just one voice saying lots of different things, or its tonnes of voices saying their own things (but because there's so many, or they're at different 'distances' its hard to tell what they're saying). Then, it escalates to screaming.
Thankfully I don't get it very often (I've had it happen like 5 or 6 times in total). I had the whispering part last night, but not the screaming. First time it's happened in quite a while.
I don't dream anymore.
