Dreams usually occur when you do something during the day that is notable. It means your life is boring.
You've probably watched too many "If you smoke one joint you can die immediately" commercials Another Protip: Marijuana can help you in many ways, and is a fucking plant goddamn it.
loldruggies
loldruggies
lol ignorance
Everyone dreams, you just happen to not remember anything.
You're not missing anything.
Try eating a peanut butter banana sandwich. Also, everyone dreams but when you don't recall having one it probably means you dreams are occurring deeper in the subconscious.
That has nothing to do with it (by the way, the word you were looking for was unconscious). OP: It's not that you don't dream. You do dream, several times a night (the brain goes through a cycle during sleep, one being the REM state, which is where dreaming occurs, and the brain enters this state multiple times throughout sleep), but you probably have a short dream recall, or the brain isn't transferring short-term memory to long-term as much as you want it to. Try to keep a dream journal; freewrite when you are feeling really groggy and are on the edge of sleeping (this is called the hypnagogic state). When you wake up, immediately write down what you remember. These will help improve your dream recall (I took an entire semester on dreams and dreaming, I know my shit). By the way, the person I quoted is completely wrong; dreams don't "occur" in places; the brain uses dreams as a way of communicating unconscious thought (as symbols) to the conscious mind.
I have the same problem as the OP. I remember maybe one dream a month, tops. It's weird. I'm an art major, so people always assume that I have really vivid/interesting dreams, and they get really disappointed when I explain that I almost never have them at all. [editline]06:23AM[/editline]
So, what, you go to sleep and just instantly (to you) wake up?
This. Seriously. I lay down, close my eyes for a few minutes and fall asleep, and then the next thing I know I'm waking up in the morning.
Dreams usually occur when you do something during the day that is notable. It means your life is boring.
No, not at all. Dreams are mostly meaningless images that aren't necessarily from the day's events. Sometimes though a dream has a meaningful message conveyed by the unconscious (which take the form of symbols).
I have a theory, some of those really strange dreams that have absolutely no logical order at all, is just your brain defragmenting! :science:
Everyone dreams
Everyone dreams
That's a rather sweeping generalization.
I dunno about you, but I find masturbating before sleeping makes me either not have any dreams or not remember them in the morning.
I never want to do that shit. I will die 20 years too early.
rock on
I never dream. The next morning, I never recall dreaming about anything. Is it just me who does not seem the dream? I only recall at least 3 dreams my entire life, and from what I hear, dreaming is really nice. I really want to be able to dream more. My question: Are there any methods to help me dream? Or at least remember what I was dreaming of the next day? I really want to be able to dream and remember them the next day. It will probably make me feel really nice inside and I get a little more adventure while i'm sleeping. (Also, falling off a cliff to land on your bed doesn't count...i've had that that a lot and don't recall why I jumped off a cliff in the first place.)
Every man dreams every night. No exceptions. You just don't remember it.
Eating a lot of chocolate just before bed has been proven to cause dreams and most of the time you can have lucid dreams if you eat enough. Also, when i dream, and i try to punch someone, i never really can. It's like right before i'm about to hit them, my hand/arm slows down really fast and i just barely tap them. Really annoying when i'm in a fighting dream. And up until i was about 10, all of my dreams ended in me being naked for no apparent reason. [editline]4:38 AM[/editline] I think eating the chocolate works, because there's a chemical in it that when ingested, it causes the brain to release endorphins. More endorphins = you're happier = easier to dream/lucid dream.
My most retarded dream was probably chasing someone in a speedboat through my house. I know I dreamt last night, it's just that the details of it are just out of reach in my mind. :frown:

I cant remember my dreams or if i dreamed at times.
I rarely remember most of my dreams. Perhaps you just don't remember any?
Jogging with Bill Clinton in a dream is too weird for me
get some stress on you, people usually dream under stress. another way is take some drugs.
Yes. You're the only person in the entire world that cannot dream.
I find that abrupt awakenings help me remember my dreams especially while I'm still supposed to be sleeping. I'll still be in a heavy sleep so the dreams are still going. Honestly I've been having weird dreams every night and I can remember most of the details.
Sometimes your brain makes you dream that you tripped or fell or something and then you wake up in bed and bounce.
I do that from time to time. Not fully asleep when it happens though i think.
You're a Space Marine [editline]12:03PM[/editline]
Sometimes your brain makes you dream that you tripped or fell or something and then you wake up in bed and bounce.
oh god this
Everyone dreams, no exceptions. People who rate me disagree are afraid of being science'd.
'Being Science'd?' i think i vomited a little
'Being Science'd?' i think i vomited a little
Why? You scared of being science'd right in the face?! He'll do it, man! Don't doubt him! He'll science you good!
One time I had a nightmare that general discussion would turn into fast threads. I woke up the next morning and it had come true!!!!!!
I dream all the time, and i renember most of them. But some of them are pretty creepy.Do more interesting stuff and you will start dreaming.
I watched Zombieland before sleeping, I wanted to kill zombies in my dreams. Instead I get dreams about school. Coincidence?
