I defend you and you say it's not necessary. Not worth my time if it's not necessary.
Is wrist pain normal doing these types of exercises? And, if anyone knows what it is, can anyone recommend an ab exercise better than the torture twist?

I was joking :).

Depends, when doing pseudos then hell yeah, lots of wrist pain. Also, the l-sit is incredible for abs, but requires some core strength. Another good exercise is lying completely fat and lifting your legs just 1 cm of the ground and hold the position.

Yeah I just started working towards planches and my wrists hurt more than my arms :V:

Rotate your hands slightly outer or just sideways. But it's harder to balance sideways.

Well I suppose it's just because I never worked on my wrists, and I have really thin wrists. I've been strengthening them. It's more of a sore pain than an injury pain.

Oh, that's good then. But please note, after the advanced tuck planche, it kinda gets impossible for some people to keep their wrists pointed forward.
I don't get how i get from being able to do the frog stance to be able to do the advanced tuck planche? :O It's like worlds away.

Nooo, your next stage is tuck planche, not advanced, that's waaay to hard, even for me. And the frogstand is made to get used to the balance. I recommend training to the pseudo push-ups
Oh, that's good then. But please note, after the advanced tuck planche, it kinda gets impossible for some people to keep their wrists pointed forward.
If I shouldn't be keeping my wrists forward then I don't plan on it lol. Been doing a shitton of pseudo planches. Feels good having different muscles sore thn usual pushup ones.
The tuck planche seems impossible too, but i'll do the pseudo-pushups then.
Remember, when you get the tuck planche you'll make some awesome progress. I'll be making a tutorial when I get my full planche, and probably a e-boo,k too. I've been on a gymnast forum and they said gettin' a straddle planche in 5 months is amazing. So I'll just make a full e-book with tips hints and literally everything you need to know for the full planche.
Would a combination of this and ordinary weightlifting be good, you think?

Don't forget that this thread isn't about you backflips.
Calisthenics are a form of dynamic exercise consisting of a variety of simple, often rhythmical, movements, generally using minimal equipment or apparatus. I'm the only one who is posting progress, which is what this thread is all about.
Well I'm not making much progress, lay off :<
Yeah not much progress here either, tuck planche is hard as fuck. I just don't get how you can pitch your body so your feet get off the ground. Needs more pseudo-push-ups I guess
Oh, training your abs help you with the actual tuck if you can't hold that. Also, can you guys post a vid of your pseudos? Many people do them incorrectly. I know I did them incorrect when I started.
Oh Christ, I tired doing a handstand and I failed, I couldn't do them when I was younger either. So, along with my running I'm gonna try some of this. I'm guessing I should do some wall push ups then.
Should I just do the wall push ups or is there some other things I can do? I'm determined to be able to do a fucking handstand now.
idk if this has been said...but if you plan on doing pseudo push ups, i suggest you do them on your fists on a soft surface, like carpet. your wrists will thank you.

Wait, if you can do a wall handstand for 1 minute then you can do a free-standing handstand. You need to know how to balance. Lots of people don't realize that the only way to balance is to use your FINGERS. Just dig in the ground with your fingers and try to keep balance. Remember, always lean a bit forward as if you're about to fall, but the only thing that prevents you from falling are your fingers. Good luck, 5 months ago a was very determined to do handstands, too. Once you get 'm, you want more :D.

Or just... point your wrists on your side...

Just try a lot, you'll fall often (but after a few times you know what to do when you tip over and you won't hurt yourself). Learnt handstand in about 3 months or something
