How do you plan on doing that?? I thought you could only burn fat from your whole body at once? I'm already at a low BF percentage, but idk how to lower it further.
You obviously can't burn bodyfat in specific areas, it just leaves as you exercise more. I'm running at a 20% caloric deficit, working 3 times a week (6 hour shifts in the kitchen, so nominal manual labor) clocking 8 miles of running a week with hill sprints (2-miles runs) and gym 3-4 times a week aiming for full-body workouts. I am burning like a motherfucker. Diet is also key, but you gotta be very careful, don't cut back too hard otherwise you'll end up eating like a famine victim. But in general though, if you want abs and you're already slender or skinny-fat, you're in for an uphill battle. You're essentially burning a ton of energy and calories but you have to maintain strength and muscle while your body fat and the water retention on your stomach/rest of your body gets burned in this process.

Anyone else have shoulder issues despite using okay form? I wasn't entirely focused on bench one day (50kg, lightweight lole), and my shoulder has been hurting few weeks, physio said there's nothing significant to worry about just work your way up from a lighter weight. Then today my left shoulder was hurting from curls. I'm guessing it's a just a case of weak rotator cuffs/whatever internal parts of my shoulder and posture. Anyone see any improvement doing face pulls and rotator cuff exercises?
What sucks is I already have an issue eating enough food.
Gotta start getting food in, man. Progress starts in the kitchen.
Hello. So I pushed myself one week ago really hard for 2 hours. My hands hurt for 3 days straight. Now I have realized my muscles have grown really big. Is that possible just from one workout?
Hello. So I pushed myself one week ago really hard for 2 hours. My hands hurt for 3 days straight. Now I have realized my muscles have grown really big. So fuck weighted jump squats, my legs are jelly and I love it. Two months in to working out again and I'm starting to do days of isolated groups, not just overall early days working everything medium hard to get used to the idea of oww.. the progress I've made in this time has been good I feel, but I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner. Guess I just wasn't ready, but fuck me I sure am now. [editline]13th August 2015[/editline] But seriously fuck weighted jump squats they're killer
Anyone tried standing on a platform while deadlifting? Just wanna try some assistance work but not quite sure what to do
Anyone tried standing on a platform while deadlifting? Just wanna try some assistance work but not quite sure what to do
Deficit deadlifts? Very, very good deadlift assistance work , throw them and some paused rep deadlifts in and you should be sorted [editline]13th August 2015[/editline]
Hello. Yea thats got me thinking, seems like some of the best assistance you can do for a given exercise is to take that exercise and find out how to do the paused version of it
http://www.catalystathletics.com/article/1697/The-Pusher-Dont-Care-Ibuprofen-and-Weightlifting/ Never heard of this before now, anyway else take ibuprofen before lifting? Might try it tomorrow since I'm going for a few 5rms.
I've had a lot of tendon and muscle inflammations, all I've ever read about it is that NSAIDs like Ibuprofen are bad for recovery
lol taking a NSAID that is often prescribed as a painkiller and may fuck up your recovery before heavy strenuous exercise, what ever could go wrong
weighted chin/pull ups and dips are great.
so now that im going towards joining the army i need to actually do some fucking cardio instead of lifting shit so i can have a chance any ideas on what shoes are best for running?
so now that im going towards joining the army i need to actually do some fucking cardio instead of lifting shit so i can have a chance any ideas on what shoes are best for running?
IIRC from cross country, all the brands are pretty good at different things. I have wide feet with a poor arch, so I went with New Balance.
all i know is i need reasonably flat shoes or my heels get fuked up
so now that im going towards joining the army i need to actually do some fucking cardio instead of lifting shit so i can have a chance any ideas on what shoes are best for running?
Try to hit up some athletic store or get a doctor to check your feet, if you look hard, try to see if you can get an appointment with a podiatrist. Don't think cheap when it comes to running shoes, the right pair is worth the investment. Get the right shoe, break it in and make sure that you are comfortable with them as you are running, because if you fuck your feet up, it's essentially a career-ender for you in the military.
6'0 240, havent been lifting much or very hard lately and my legs have shrunk tremendously due to knee problems.
Can I eat 3 eggs scrambled for breakfast every day? It's actually scaring me how tasty I'm finding them with a dash of salt and edging towards undercooked, and it would be a nice way to replace cereal. I've been having 3 eggs every other day because I have this idea that there's something unhealthy about eating too many eggs...but why do I think that?
nah mane eggs are good 4 u but really unless you have cholestoral problems it's fine [editline]d[/editline] inhaling/exhaling on the bench today
eggs are fine, cholesterol is good for you. The cholesterol hypothesis as it relates to heart disease has been more or less dead for 20 years, its just taking mainstream media a while to catch up. Theres no real correlation between blood cholesterol and heart disease. Doctors found this out some time ago when they started prescribing en mass the ~wonder drugs~ of statins and people still keeled over with completely normal or even low cholesterol. How the cholesterol hypothesis came to be so widely accepted is a real doozy and ultimately a very embarrassing story for the medical establishment, but I'm not going to go into it. Its worth a read if you want to alarm yourself to just how useless most doctors are without relevant experience.
6 foot 1 skinny bitchlet here (about 67kg, not really sure my gym doesn't have fucking scales oh god why) Can someone explain the benefits and drawbacks of using pre-workout? Also my biggest question is, pre-workout for cardio: yes or a no?
Benefit: Makes your work outs seems easier/ more fun Drawbacks: Addiction/dependence/ withdrawl. Its really just over priced caffeine. For cardio: if you want, it'll probably help. I take pre workout once a week before my hardest training, which happens to be in about half an hour.
pre workout: yes
Probably just inflammation, you won't gain a noticeable amount of muscle from just one workout
You are correct, my hands are back to square one
Once my abs were swollen, had a glorious 2 days of six pack
Hit a whole bunch of PR's today 122.5kgx5 ATG squat (wraps) 142.5kgx6 Deadlift 35kgx4 Weighted Pull Up 70kgx1 Shoulder press 85kgx1 Power jerk Gonna rest up next week cause I've a lot of stuff going on, and also because I pushing into over training territory; resting heart rate ~100bpm, anxiety every time I lay down, tiredness throughout the day even after 10 hours sleep a night. I dont want to keep pushing this because it landed me in hospital before.

Hell I was even starting to get dependent on one energy drink before my workouts after like 3 times or so
