JUMPMAN JUMPMAN JUMPMAN THEM BOYS UP TO SOMETHIN
So I did a 5/4/3/2/1 for squats today.
My one-rep is at 225 lbs. I think if I continue doing this I can have it up at 250lbs instead.
Also did these for the first time and I feel like a king afterwards.

Those are so damn good for your core. Too few people do Anti-Rotation flexion core excercises.
Definitely one of my favourite core excercises alongside the Standing Ab Wheel (Anti-Extension) and Hanging Leg Raise (Hip Flexion with neutral spine), and Side Bends (Anti-Lateral Flexion).
Honestly though, if you're only doing crunches I'd definitely try and implement an excercise for each of those types. If you hate Ab work i'd recommend at least Anti-Rotation and Anti-Extension for performance purposes.
Side note, if you're trying to build an aesthetic core, training your Transverse Abdominus with Stomach Vacuums is essential.

If you have breadloaf abs like so, start doing Stomach Vacuums in the morning. I had breadloaf abs and they went away in about 2 weeks.

I may need to start looking into that. My form for the T-bar twist may be a bit off because I wasn't rotating by the hip, I was feeling more of my chest and arms being used as opposed to my abs.
I started to try this exercise out because I've been doing tons of cable crunches and the machine crunches and alternating. This ought to add some diversity in ab workouts for my routine.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssss
just ordered some wei rui warriors, gonna take a while to get here but I'm keen
If they help a shit ton im probably gonna start saving for the romaleos
Why romaleos and not power perfect 2's or adipowers?
Power perfect 2's aren't as good as the romaleo's or the adipowers (at least from the reviews and recommendeds I've seen. Still good but not as good as those two are top of the range) and the adipowers are apparently pretty thin shoes which is bad because my feet are pretty damn wide, so since they're more or less the same quality as the romaleos I might as well get the romaleos
[editline]11th October 2015[/editline]
Gonna probably get a proper belt soon as well along with a pair of gangsta wraps as they're now ipf approved. The belt is gonna be the iron tanks lever 13mm, apparently the lever mechanism is really fucking sturdy compared to other companies

I got some fat feet and the PP2's fit my fine, I fucking love em. Had em for about 3 years and there still holding up great. Whatever difference there is between the shoes is minimal, and I think the power perfects look pretty good too, the wei ruis look fugly

Winner. I have been waiting a month for those cocksuckers to come in in my size. I went ahead and ordered the Powerlift 2.0s for a starter pair. They get mixed reviews, but with free shipping and returns, it's no issue for me if I don't like them.

Would've loved something from either nike or adidas but all of the good brands and products (like the PP 2's and shit) had exorbitant shipping fees that literally doubled the price of the shoe, or just plain didn't ship to South Africa, so I had to go budget for wei ruis which came out to the same price with shipping included as most of the others were without shipping. Once money isn't a problem and I've got a couple comps under my belt I might look into the mid range like the PP's instead of the roms and adipowers. Yeah the wei ruis do look pretty fucking ugly but hey if they work :v:

Yeah I was lucky with sizing, they had almost everything up until 9 (mine) and then most of the stuff after was out of stock. I have a friend who got the powerlift's while they were still in stock in SA (all gone now and they're not restocking anymore goddammit) and he said they're pretty awesome shoes, the heel height from what I can remember isn't the standard .75 inch but honestly shouldn't matter too much in the long run
pp2 masterrace here
My Wei Ruis kinda grew on me. I've seen uglier shoes. I mean the colorway is the main issue to me, the design itself isn't downright ugly.
The Adida Powerlifts 2.0s in Black/Red are the best looking shoes I've seen, but are not the best performing, or even best quality. Wei Ruis are not a hell of a lot better in quality, but they are a decent value.
I don't know how mine are holding up still after a year and a half....the velcro on one shoe is kinda weak and the heel had to be Gorilla glued after multiple shoe goo attempts. The heel actually started peeling within 3-4 months, but it was only an issue right at the back of the heel. The rest of the sole was/is still solidly attached.
I've been considering visiting a shoe cobbler or having a crafty friend make me a heel lift for either just my tight ankle foot or both. I've seen more than few Chinese lifters add on additional heel, so it's not out of the question. My issue is I don't know if it's better to balance them out and add the same amount of heel to both, or just add enough to the super tight side so that maybe I could get the same angle knee and shin as I do on my normal leg.
This is an issue as on a really narrow and deep squat, the heel will not stay grounded. There simply is not enough mobility, and probably never will be due to my heel possibly being .5-1in too short. My hips are always at a slight tilt in deep squats, in order to overcompensate in the mobility difference. I've been lifting like this for years, so it doesn't necessarily affect my everyday life or give me pain, but it's still an issue needing attention.
How's the performance of the wei ruis? I don't mind much at all about the look but the stability and shit is what's important
Also what about some of the higher heeled shoes out there? I remember looking for some and I saw what looked like a pretty decent quality brand that have 1 inch effective heel height
160 kg for 3 sets of 2 on squats today, feels good bumping up the weight to something that looks decent on the bar
Mondays so boring for me, just stretching and some cardio
Working towards getting into a deep squat easier. Have to try and do a gait analysis this week, the shoes I use right now are too 'primal' and don't support my flat feet. Will probably end up getting ones with better inner arch support and likely a bigger drop

Well, with them being the only shoe I have ever "tested", I find them pretty great :v:. Even in their current level of wear, they feel quite solid. The straps and laces still hold firm and since the sole has an ever-so-slight curve to it, I can have some play in balance.
I do also know the specific design doesn't seem to be 100% exclusive (Look at these as well) to Wei-Rui either. I don't know if those are the only examples of another brand using the shoe design, but I guess the fact more than one brand uses it is a plus, and at least there are some other affordable choices out there.
I've been going to my school's gym for about a month now, but only today have I broken my 4 year streak of not touching a bench for a whole 105 lbs
Starting back at gym today. Have a busy day usually so have decided to get in there at 6 before work. Feels better in the morning to be honest.

hmm didn't know that the design wasn't unique, pretty keen to get them now that i have another solid recommendation shot

Also I'm thinking of switching up my training a little bit. My bench is really lagging behind all of my other lifts so I want to try train it 3x per week instead of 2, train my squat 2x per week as normal, and take my deadlift down a notch and only train it once per week, at the end right before my one day break. Any opinions?
Deadlift once a week is probably the best way of training it once your hitting big numbers, doing it more often takes too much out of you
Dont know about switching bench up to 3x a week, I imagine it'l help, how's your ohp? getting that up usually translates into a better bench
Squatting twice a week is minimum you should do, I've always found squatting regularly 2,3 even 4 days a week to help a lot more compared with doing it once.
[editline]14th October 2015[/editline]
Anyway here's my plan for getting my bench up over the next 2 months
Week1: 4x6 @85
2: 5x5 @87.5
3: 6x4 @90
4: 8x3 @92.5 or 95
5:Deload
6:Repeat set/rep scheme with heavier weighths
I figure keeping the volume arount 24 total reps should be ideal since it seemed to work for my squat.

Alright shot. I carry on forgetting about ohp, might incorporate that as its own day instead of another bench day, probably switch it out for one of my deadlift days. Won't be able to squat 3x a week probably, might give it a go for a bit but squatting takes a fuckload out of me and i'm progressing pretty decently as is.
Should probably start including a deload week in my training too
218.4 lbs yesterday, 217lbs this morning just following a diet change. I have to make serious changes in my life so I can look much better for this summer. Going to start going to the gym today, gonna work chest, then follow it up with running a mile and doing 30 minutes on the elliptical. Gonna make this an everyday thing.

Also was looking into this place near me called The Max, I've heard a lot of success stories from there.

Yea fair enough your squatting a shitload, thats going to take it out of you.
I've found in the last few months that I've no choice but to take deload weeks, on the 4th/5th or so consecutive week of training I start stalling/ going backwards in terms of strength and feel tired all the time. If I take a few days off though I come back stronger than ever.

yeah I get a bit tired but I haven't experienced any strength loss yet. Might just miss a cycle of 3 days (bench, squat, dead) every couple of weeks just to get some rest
Paid for the first month today, got a key and everything, so no more excuses as far as "oh it's too late to go today they're not open."
Still just doing light weights on a course of the machines and 30 minutes cardio for now, once I have some small amount of stamina I'm hoping to move on to starting strength or stronglifts, but I need to talk to my doctor as well because my heart rate is apparently high as fuck. (187bpm on the treadmill)
How much do you run? If it's a rather intense cardio session and you don't feel any physical distress, it's a normal number.
Ran a sub 7 minute mile @ 5am hungover and at 240lbs and smoked like half a pack the night b4 come at me cardio phags
Sprints > regular cardio.
Is it normal to look way flabbier after drinking the last night and then sleeping about 3 hours? Or what the fuck where has this fat come from
Idk i always look way leaner cause of the dehydration
