Trying to readjust my regimen now.
I can no longer workout in the middle of the afternoon since I now have an office job that takes that portion. Mornings will not be acceptable since I will be doing cardio with my group. So I'm left with evenings.
Skipped a few days, but trying 5/4/3/2/1's and doing the 'minimum' of bench, OHP and squats every time I visit. At this point I'm just hitting maintenance
my roommate is such a fucking piece of shit. spends all his money on weed and junk food and complains about being strapped for cash, then breaks my xbox one controller. he's like "damn man this controller aint working right." i look at it and the fucking joystick is popped outta place, yeah no fucking shit it's broken. these things go for like $60 each and as soon as he shows me it gets up and leaves. before he goes i said "yeah, i guess it's kinda both our faults for not taking better care of it." then he just says, "yeah guess it is haha." fucking makes me mad at how little he cared
there is no way he's snaking outta this shit
Was it really both of you at fault, or did he just do something stupid and fuck it up? If it was really just him, you probably didn't help your case by trying to hint at it like that and you should let him know you were just being easy on him. If he really did break it on his own, he needs to get you a new one.
Maintaining a proper diet is more difficult to me than actually going to the gym.
I don't fully understand the concept of "counting macros," either. Any suggestions?
Look at the ingredients for whatever your eating and try add up the values for protein/ calories and maybe carbs too.
myfitnesspal app is great for tracking your calories/macros.

i watched him kick the controller off the couch when he was stoned last night, which hes done like a million times before. i was hoping he'd admit it himself and take some responsibility, but now i know hes a shitty friend. im being nice atm bc i have work to do tonight and cannot deal with this shit right now. what i meant was "i know youre 6 years old and its my fault for not making sure the controllers are in a safe place where they cant be wrecked by your clumsy ass". ugh, my blood is boiling and hes playing all coy. i just cannot deal with the hissy fit right nowrwhich i know with him will last the whole night

do carbs really matter? i thought that was just for keto
[editline]29th October 2015[/editline]
Also, I haven't lifted in like 2 months :(
i'm kind of disappointed in myself, but i have some irrational fear of "messing up" because my diet isn't perfectly catalogued...
like, i feel like if i don't work on my diet first, going to the gym would be a waste. am i thinking wrong?
So my dad bought some gloves for me, but I just noticed there is a warning about them containing chemicals known in California that may cause cancer, birth defects
Should I be worried?

You are correct, but you're overthinking it massively. It's just eating a small deficit if you want to lose weight or eating a small surplus if you want to gain weight.

Not really but if your going to they gym you'd want to get some carbs in first
wasn't able to complete all 5 sets of barbell rowing today at 35kg, that's a bummer. I fucked up at the 4th set, I lost count and was only able to pull off 4 correct reps. finished the 5th one though so it was only a single rep. considering I'm losing weight and not gaining, does this mean I won't be lifting heavier than that?
also, one of the guys working there (I think) came up to me and told me I'd fuck up my back by doing it as low as I did. I was standing in the starting deadlift position with a fairly horizontal back. I thought that was the right form? googling shows me the form I did, not the one he showed me. doing it like he showed me, the barbell would reach my kneecaps at the lowest. my back must have been roughly 70-75 degrees. is this correct? I don't know if I should trust what I've read multiple places on the internet or an educated guy in the gym.
160 3*3 squats, proper ipf mariana trench depth. Might upload a video of my next session if it goes just as gooder after ive vidded for my form

hey cool only 120 kg away from the 83kg junior squat record, no biggie

Everything causes cancer in California, don't worry. It's literally written on EVERYTHING there, buy a bottle of water from California and it will say some shit like "RECOGNIZED TO GIVE CANCER IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA" it's like required by law to stamp that shit on EVERYTHING in that state.
I bought Orange Triads and it said the same shit so I looked up because I was worried and apparently California is cancer state because everything from water to chicken breast to vitamins to fucking lifting gloves give cancer.
California gives me cancer

Pretty sure that if you aren't arching your spine you're going to be fine. I've always read parallel with the floor within 10°-15°. You might have someone take a video of you doing a set though from the side to see if any form issues are present that you aren't catching. There's a few communities on reddit which have days dedicating to form analysis/review you might try submitting to.

"educated gym guy"
Trust what you read, what you're doing is technically a pendlay row which is the traditional proper BB row
Okay brahs what should I be for halloween? 6' 240
a fat fuck :^)

What kind of rows are you doing?
Pendlay rows your back should be as horizontal as possible
Yates rows you shouldn't be starting in the deadlift position
not many people use or have heard of pendlays though so it confuses them

Don't wear gloves in the gym.
Don't wear gloves in the gym.
why not?
Had a talk with Ady (head gym-guy) and he brought everything back into perspective, I was clearly overthinking everything. I'll probably pick up a pair of arch-supporting running shoes after all as I'm not going to be squatting heavy weight for a while, so the unstable platform doesn't factor in yet. Right now the first step is just to eliminate my over pronation and protect my ligaments. I'd have to drop a lot of dosh buying proper weightlifting shoes along with the correct orthotics, but I'll do it when I'm closer to that stage
Being tall with flat feet is hell
why not?
Because they mess with your technique and stop you from gaining grip strength
Calluses should be a mark of pride and are nature's way of helping you lift

if you're gripping correctly your calluses won't be too bad anyway
Can working out lead to injuries two days afterwards? Had a pretty intense session on Monday, broke PRs in both DL and squats. The day after my back was a bit weary, then on Wednesday evening it went full intense pain at thoracic vertebrae level and I had to walk like an old lady. I think it's a pinched nerve or some bullshit like that. It's been two days now and I'm slowly recovering, but jeeze.

Hmm. What I was worried about is not getting enough "clean" foods. I guess it truly is calories in/calories out, then.
lol did 100 pullups in about 20 minutes, since i had to rush off to class
when youre on a cut, the calisthenics gains are so real
on a bulk here, pull-ups are fuckin suffering
I swear it's getting harder every time
just look at it as microloading (i hope) each time
